Progesterone suppository help!
I got my medications delivered by Kraupner's today... but there was no information. No leaflets, instructions, etc. My name is spelled wrong too, but whatever.
I'm pretty sure I know where the suppositories go, but beyond that, I'm confused. The Internet is telling me to unwrap them, use the applicator, and use them 2-3 times a day. Mine just look like little white pieces of chalk. No wrapper or applicator. I don't know what kind they are either - the label just says "Progesterone Suppositories 400 MG", not "endromitrum" or "prometrium" or whatever the internet says I'm supposed to have.
- Do I refrigerate them?
- Do I take them 1, 2, or 3 times a day?
- What side effects should I know about?
HOW could a pharmacy deliver me a medication without any information? This is crazy to me.

Re: Progesterone suppository help!
The only progesterone I had to refrigerate were the special ones compounded with estrogen. All others did not need refrigeration

Re: Progesterone suppository help!
There is literally nothing else on the label but my (misspelled name) and "Progesterone Suppositories - 400 mg." And no paper in the bag along with them. They are in a standard orange pill bottle and are white, waxy things. They're not attached. There are 14 of them and they're already kind of melting.

Re: Progesterone suppository help!
I guess I'll take one tonight and call the RE first thing in the morning. Ooh, and I get to do my first Lovenox shot tonight too! Anyone have a good YouTube video or something for that one?

Re: Progesterone suppository help!
That's so bizarre. With the waxy bullet ones, you just place one in your area as far up as you can go at bedtime. Call your RE tomorrow bc some REs want you taking it twice a day. I would get acne, cramps and boob tenderness from them. You basically feel prego from them. You should keep taking them until the RE does another beta and advises further. Good luck!!

Progesterone suppository help!
I have done crinone and endometrin. Those both have like a plunger thing. They did not have to be refrigerated. Now I'm on a pregesterone/estrogen mix which is refrigerated. I would call your RE tomorrow and see how many they want you to take a day and if its refrigerated. I feel like it would say refrigerate if it needed to be. GL I hope your repeat beta goes well.

Ok - took your advice and it didn't hurt a bit... well until a minute later when the medicine really started to sting. ice took care of that though. Hope it doesn't look too ugly tomorrow.

Progesterone suppository help!
I had the same ones from Kraupners. I was taking one in morning and one at night. The bottle or dr/nurse should of at least stated how many a day you were supposed to take.

Good! It prob will look horrible, but you know it's for a good cause. I look like I've been assaulted lol. Make sure to switch sides every night.

I just got a call back from the nurse and you're right, it's 2x a day. Thanks!

Re: Progesterone suppository help!
if it is like crinone, then you just put it up there and squeeze the applicator. Just make sure you clean it out before inserting a new applicator because it can build up over time.

I also use Endometrin -- helpful hint: make sure you buy some pads or panty liners. After you put the suppository in, your body heat will start to melt it and it will slowly come out throughout the day as a white, pasty discharge. Pads will save your underwear!
