Question about requesting an induction...
So my baby was breech but my ECV was successful  and she no longer is (I hope she didn't flip back lol).
My Csection date was 9/8.
What are the odds of my doctor keeping that date and just inducing me? It is 6 days before my DD....
This is my second pregnancy, I find out today if I am dilated or effaced, last Monday I was a finger dilated.
I feel like if I am dilated and effaced since it is my 2nd baby the induction would be quick and easy. Of course having a planned date to go in makes my life easier as far as child care for my son and such.
Thoughts?

I don't know much about inductions but I know my ob's will not induce until you have past your dd, unless it is medically necessary.

I'm not sure. I think my drs office would actually be happy to schedule me, but having been induced before I'm not sure I'd want to go that route unless necessary. I was more than 2cm dilated and I forget how effaced, but I was somewhat. It was overall a smooth induction, but it was painful and a c-section was mentioned a few times, bc of how long it was taking for me to progress. This was for my first pregnancy though, and I do know your 2nd usually progresses more quickly. Good luck whichever route you choose, I'd just hate to see you go through the EVC only to end up with a section anyway bc the induction didn't take for whatever reason.

My on office won't induce until you're late, but I personally would not induce unless it's medically necessary. So many of them end up in c sections. Mine almost did. Thankfully I got dd out quick. Her heart rate dropped and it was a real scare. I wouldn't go that route if I didn't need to because of hbp.

I personally would let nature take its course and allow your DD to come out on her own. But I am not a big fan of inductions unless it is truly medically necessary.
An induction could lead to a C-section if your body isn't ready and that's exactly what you tried to avoid with the external version!
I too worry about what to do with my DD when I go into labor but as long as you have a decent plan in place, it should be fine. Just start prepping him now that the baby is coming and one day he might wake up and grandma will be there or whatever the plan is.

This. An induction too soon is an almost guaranteed ticket to a c section. Inductions work when the body is somewhat ready but if you are not there yet there is too much of a chance for failure and if you went trough the pain of a version don't rush it!!!!!

I know someone who had the baby turned and it worked. But then a few days later, he turned back to being breech.
So... her doctor turned the baby again and immediately induced her after. She said it was very easy and everything worked like a charm.

If your doctor things you are favorable for a successful induction, I say go for it.
I have to disagree with the other comments here. Yes, it can lead to a c-section, but it doesn't always. Any birth can turn into a c-section, not just inductions.
I had one at 39 weeks with my 2nd child and it was great. Got to the hospital around 11:30am and had my baby girl in my arms by 5:46pm.
I trusted that my doctor wouldn't have given me the option unless he was confident that I had a good chance of success.

Question about requesting an induction...
My situation was similar to yours.. DD was breech, and I had to schedule a c-section date (on my due date actually) but she flipped at 37 weeks and remained in the head down position. My OB was reluctant to induce me until I was post-due and mentioned that she would only consider inducing if I hit 42 weeks, or if I had low fluid etc. I went the day after my EDD and I had low fluid, so she induced me.

Thanks, I saw my doc who said that I am favorable for an induction, I am already dilated and effaced and he said if I am still pregnant at 39w he will induce me "and if the baby isn't here by lunch I get my money back "  .

I totally agree...my doctor induced me at 39 weeks exactly and I had a great induction...this was my second child and did an induction with the first which also went great....if your doctor is confident it will be successful then go for it

Glad to hear your doc gave you the green light. I know a lot of people are against elective inductions and try to paint them as inevitable c-sections, but that isn't the case.

I was induced at 39 weeks with my first b/c of low fluid. I wasn't dilated at all.....nothing nothing nothing.
Totally successful induction. 16 hours start to finish (including when I got there before they gave me the meds). No mention of a c-section at any point.

I had a similar experience with my 2nd. Was induced at 39 weeks electively. Started Pitocin at 9, broke my water at 9:30 and DC was born at 12:30. Smooth and great experience.
