Jewish mamas bris/circumcision question
So, I am Jewish and always knew I would raise my kids as such, my husband is kinda Jewish, long story on that, he has a bris, that was botched and had to have surgery to repair it when he was a baby. He has no problem raising our son Jewish but he wants the actual circumcision done in the hospital and then wants to have a ceremony after, similar I guess to a baby naming you would have for a girl.
Has anyone done this or heard of this?

yes this is what I plan on doing. I'm having the circumcision done in the hospital and I will do a baby naming when I'm up for planning the event so my son can have some sort of ceremony to receive his jewish name.

We sought out a mohel who is an M.D. The best of both worlds.

nope but I haven't tried yet. If/when I do find someone I'll let you know. I'm not too worried about finding a rabbi that will do the service.

I'm having a girl, but this is what I would have done if she had been a boy.
Based on your DH's experience - I don't blame him for wanting it done in the hospital.

Friends of ours did this. The mother wasn't Jewish, so the baby wasn't technically Jewish under Jewish law. They opted to circ the baby in the hospital and had a baby naming at 6 months old. It was great.
