Suing a contractor?
Has anyone ever had to sue a contractor or a company that did work on your house?
Did you use a lawyer or small claims court? How does small claims court even work- is there a lot of paperwork to do yourself?
Do you have any advice? Lawyer recommendations?
Any info would be helpful! Thanks.

whether or not you can go to small claims court depends on the amount you would be suing for - I think the max for small claims is $5K. Small claims court is fairly simple - go down to the court and ask for the form to file a complaint. You can get all the instructions right there.
If you are suing for a significant amount, I would probably retain an attorney
