Constipation & Stool Softeners?
I know that constipation is totally normal throughout pregnancy. A bunch of stool softeners are on my doctors list of "approved" medicine. I took 1 Colace pill yesterday and today, and OMG, things were sooooo much better in that department. The directions say that adults can take up to 3 pills per day, which it doesn't look like I need.
My question is -- has anyone been on a stool softener pill long term? I'll ask my doc when I go in this week, but was wondering if anyone takes these pills on a daily basis and has been for a while. Thanks!

Constipation & Stool Softeners?
Me! Wish I knew about colace sooner, makes a world of difference. I started on them mid-pregnancy and still take one a day. It def. helps!

I religiously take colace twice a day!! I started at around 9 weeks and now I'm almost 13. It's my life saver I will not part with my colace!
ETA: my friend took colace her entire pregnancy when she was preggo plus she had to alternate between miralax and milk of mag pretty much the whole time.

I am so not used to being constipated like this-My stomach is killing me all day today! I am going to ask my doctor tonight if I can take something!

Constipation & Stool Softeners?
Haven't taken it throughout. Only for a few days along with citrucel when it 'was bad.' I find drinking more water and just eating more fiber helps me the best.

I was taking one to two pills a day for months while I was PG - my doc told me it was ok.

I was taking 3 a day... yup 3! Things were so bad. I took them through my 2 and 3 trimesters
