question on packing your own pads for hospital...

I can't remember now.... Does it make a difference if they are ultra thin or the thick original ones?

If they are both "heavy" or "ultra" in terms of what they can hold, then it wouldn't matter. I just think it's most important to remember how heavy the bleeding can be - so whatever is the most relevant for that.

Maybe TMI but as much as I wanted the thinner heavy flow pads to work they didn't as well as the ones the size of pillows ....

I only used thick ones - but no reason to pack them for the hospital. They will supply whatever you need when you're there.

I wouldn't pack them Use the ones the hospital gives you. I even went home with Boxes of them. it was like a free for all with all the stuff they sent me home with.
I even preferred the mesh boy short underwear they gave me. they were so comfortable.

I just used depends silhouettes and the chuck pads from the hospital. When I got home and the bleeding was a bit lighter, I used thin pads.

This.

In the beginning I'd double them up- but they were still thinner than the hospital pads

While in the hospital I always use the Always Extra Overnight Pads(thick ones) once I'm home (usually the day I leave after having Csections) I switch to Always Super Long thins w/wings.

Not a fan of the hospital pads since they don't have wings and I must have wings.

I'm a wings girl.

I needed wings.

So, I brought my own.

The ones in the hospital were awful.

ETA -- and since I couldn't wear a tampon I needed a thicker pad. Normally I'm a tampon with a panty liner as a back up gal... but in that situation I only could use a pad so I got the thicker ones.

Me too. The hospital ones were too thick and I felt like I was wearing a diaper. Could never get comfortable.

I ended up with an emergency c-section. I used the hospitals supply, but once home, I wanted those gigantic ones. The front edge of the really thin ones rubbed against my incision. The thick ones just sort of wadded in there.
