Does the gear ever go away?
I had a miscarried back in September and I'm now 5 weeks pregnant. I worry every second of every day. Last night I even dreamt that I was bleeding. My forest appointment isn't until the 9th, will this fear pass?

First, congrats!!!!! Second, the fear does lessen a little with each appt., sono, doppler, etc. It's so hard in the beginning, but then once you start feeling regular movement in there, that helps a lot. So sorry for your prior loss, but just try to take it day by day.

Re: Does the gear ever go away?
I agree with the pp about taking it day by day. I had two 8 weeks losses in a row this past year. Then I got pg again in March. I had bleeding at 7 weeks with this pregnancy and was totally convinced it was another MC. It wasn't. I'm 13 weeks now.
I think MC changes you and you are not the same again. The fear hasn't gone away for me but it does lessen as each day goes by and with every positive doctor visit.

Re: Does the gear ever go away?
I think it's normal to be fearful, especially at 5 weeks! I was very fearful until I was about 16 weeks with my DD and I hadn't experienced a loss. I did have fertility issues so In a way I think I thought being pregnant was too good to be true. This time around I was equally as fearful after my loss in January. Even now at 11 weeks I don't think I am close to out of the woods. I keep taking anything can happen at any second.

This exactly! After 2 back to back MC's I was readying myself almost daily for it to happen again. I guess in a weird way it was so I wouldn't get my hopes up again. I checked for bleeding every time I used the bathroom throughout the whole pregnancy. I'd get extremely nervous before every sono no matter how great everything was according to the doctor. I would feel better for an hour after the sono and then went back to worrying. The fear overshadows the joy. I went from being jealous of pregnant women to being jealous of carefree pregnant women. A miscarriage sucks all the innocence out of the whole experience. It wasn't until 7-8 months that I felt mentally better and more confident my rainbow baby would be there. As PP said, take one day at a time. A wise woman told me to realize that this is the beginning of a lifetime of worry, but in the best way possible. Hang in there, you are not alone!
