opinions on kitchen appliances

my kitchen has white cabinets and black and white granite countertops/backsplash. walls are an off white. i guess the cabinets are a lil off white, too now that i think about it.

i live in a co op so my washer dryer ( stackable) is in there, too. every appliance is white.

my fridge started leaking and my washing machine broke. I will be gettting all new appliances including an oven and a microwave that goes above the oven..

I will be selling my apartment in the next few months or so..

White LOOKS better, but should I get stainless steel appliances?? resale would be better, no?

I'd get what looks nicer. New appliances are still new appliances. IMO, I don't think you'd get substantially more for your apt with SS appliances.

SS appliances always sounds better. We have a few rental properties and when we replace kitchen appliances we always get SS. Many real estate agents have told us this is a huge thing renters look for. However, since you said you will be selling it then maybe just go with whatever is cheaper.

its not cheap by much.

only issue is the washer dryer. it comes in white and SLATE. slate is like 600$ more so I might just get that in white..

also SS fridge has a black side.. that will clash with white cabinets :-0(

I would stick to what looks better. I know they say SS appliances are better for sale but not everyone wants SS and if the white looks better, stick with that. I would rather have an upgraded model than SS. And if you know you are selling a few months, I would get the appliances from the clearance center or buy floor models. There is usually very little wear/tear or damage and you can save major $.

I think there's a Sears outlet by me! I'm hoping to be out of here soon but it could be a year. By the time I find a house and update it, it might be a while. We put an offer on a house 11k above ask and got outbid by another 20k.all cash of course. Anyway God has a plan for us... I'll keep looking.

Re: opinions on kitchen appliances

SS appliances for sure

When we sold our last house, every. Single. Person. Who walked through mentioned the SS appliances.

People love it.

And a white kicthen w black granite & SS looks very nice.

I agree w PP - white W&D should be fine
I think it's best to blend that in w the cabinets somewhat.

Without a doubt, I'd get stainless. They will look nicer with the white and look more modern than black or white appliances.

Not cheap, but look into Fisher Paykel brand refrigerator - it's from New Zealand and made to fit European homes - which are generally smaller. I got a FP fridge when I re-did the kitchen in my co-op and loved that thing!

Ive seen it but 2k for a fridge would be OK if I wasnt planning on selling my place in a few months. I might have to just do it :-\
