Follicle size - outcome
If you did get pregnant - what was your follicle size(s) at IVF trigger???
Dr T is triggering me tonight at around 23-24mm and I hope that is not too big (too mature)
TIA!!

Follicle size - outcome
Honestly I don't even ask about these things and they don't say anything bc things like that just stress me out more than necessary.

Thank you ladies!
PennyCat, I know your story (I am an old poster, just with a new screename) and your story is always my inspiration and hope!
This is my second cycle with Dr T (11 cycles all together) and this time around our last!
I am hoping my eggs will be healthy to fertilize and we will get one good embryo to transfer! last cycle I was on Genirelix protocol, got 15 mature eggs but ONLY 1 fertilized (severe sperm issues)... Dr T changed my protocol to long Lupron hoping for better quality eggs/fertilization rates but it looks like Lupron suppressed me well and I only made 8-9 follicles this time around...ER tomorrow....

Re: Follicle size - outcome
Aw, thanks! I like to know I could be a source of inspiration and hope for someone because frankly, I could use some of my own these days. You are with the very best there is. Remember, quality over quantity!!! Wishing you so much luck for tomorrow!

Re: Follicle size - outcome
Thank you!!!
Unfortunately it didn't go well...I am sitting here crying...
DR. T only got 6 eggs...from my 11 cycles this is the least I ever got (12 was the least number before with 24 the most)...
Last cycle we got 15 mature and only 1 fertilized...I dont even want to get the call tomorrow (want to hide under a rock)...I suspect it will be 0 this time around since we only have 6 to play around with (if all mature)....our journey is over
I am usually a strong person and can take defeat but today I dont know what to do.....
xoxo

Please don't count yourself out. You never know. Maybe the quality is better this time and that's all that will matter. I'm hoping you get good news tomorrow. Try to remain calm until then.

Re: Follicle size - outcome
Thank you ladies!
Update - just got the call from Dr T - I was bracing for the worst, now I am even more confused!
Out of 6 eggs, all were mature.....2 didn't fertilize, 1 fertilized normally and the other 3 partially. They are watching those 3.
What does partially mean? anyone every heard of that? Dr.T said it is possible they turn into embryos...
He also wants me to do Day 5 vs Day 3 transfer! in my 11 cycles I never made it to Day 5, always had Day 3 transfers.....He wants to see how they develop....I was always under the impression Day 3 is always better (in the body vs in a dish) vs Day 5 unless you have superstars which I never do....
What would you do?
TIA!!!

Re: Follicle size - outcome
I have never heard of partially. Maybe he means the sperm is currently entering in?
Are you doing ICSI? Or are you letting them fertilize on their own?
As far as 3 vs 5 day. Its such a hard call. I never did a 5 day because I was always scared. I always had the option and always chose to put them in ASAP; which was day 3. I was also scared of losing some. But at the rate I'm going; it didn't make a damn difference.
Do in your heart what you feel is right. In my opinion; there is no right or wrong answer to this. Even though most doctors will push for Day 5.

They did ICSI since we have severe sperm issues (reason for IVF)...thats why I am little puzzled what partial fertilization is...either egg fertilizes or not...
I am leaning towards Day 3 transfer..at least I will have that silly hope that the embryo might implant....I emailed the doctor and he replied back saying its my decision now....

Re: Follicle size - outcome
Then if you are doing ICSI; I'm pretty confused at the Partial also. You should ask Dr. T this question and have him explain this to you in better detail.
It is YOUR decision; and if that is what you are most comfortable with; then do Day 3; with no regrets.
Good Luck!!
