Stomach Measuring Big?
Has anyone been told that their stomach is measuring weeks ahead? I had my 30 week appointment yesterday, and my stomach is measuring 35 weeks already! They're scheduling me for an ultrasound in 2 weeks to measure the baby to ensure she's growing proportionally. At my last sonogram at 28 weeks, she measured in the 31st percentile. My doctor wants to rule out that she's having some sort of turbo growth lol. Or that I'm just carrying super heavy in the front

Re: Stomach Measuring Big?
I was just told this at my last appointment. I go again today, and if the baby is still measuring big they said they're going to schedule a sonogram to make sure there's not a negative reason why. My son was nearly 10lbs, so they are assuming right now all is fine and I just grow them big.
Do you have GD by any chance?

I don't know if my stomach was measuring big but the baby was... allegedly. They said she was 8 lbs at like 37 weeks. She was born at 40 weeks, 2 days and she was only 6 lbs 8 oz. so I'm super skeptical of any of these measurements they use.

Stomach Measuring Big?
I was told DS was measuring 3 weeks ahead consistently through my whole pregnancy. My last growth sono was 37 weeks and he was measuring in the 8lb mark. I went in at 41 +1 to be induced and the induction failed resulting in an emergency c-section because he wouldnt drop into my pelvis. P.S. he comes out weighing 10lb 15oz. I didnt have GD or anything either. I would just stay on top of your OB and make sure they do the proper scans. This was my first baby and I wish I would have had someone tell me to be more on top of it. I trusted the docs and it turns out I never should have been induced to begin with.

Aww, i love chunky babies! My LO was measuring on the smaller side, not by much, but not as big as I expected, considering my DH and I are tall. We will find out how big she is on the 21st
I wasn't officially diagnosed with GD, but am following the diet & monitoring. I failed the 1 hour, but could not take the 3 hour due to my weight loss surgery. They have me monitoring my levels 4x a day. My numbers have been well under the max though.

My friends have also said the same- the measurements are way off the closer you get to full term. She was 2.9lbs at 28 weeks, so they would like to see her close to 4lbs when I go back at 32 weeks.

oh my goodness! I couldn't imagine how that must have been for you. I am trying to avoid a c-section at all costs, but my doctor insinuated that if I keep measuring ahead like this, they may schedule one

Even if your baby is big, you can still have them vaginally. My sister gave birth to an 11 pound baby vaginally.
Good luck!!

Stay on top of your doctor. Seriously. I had a REALLY good c-section experience, so I have absolutely no fear of another in the future. I also have zero desire for a v-bac so I may just go for the scheduled for the next baby. I went into my pregnancy with zero expectations. I also didn't write a birth plan. I figured if I didn't have any set plan or expectations then I wouldn't be let down or disappointed by anything. Its the best thing I could have done.

Very true. I ended up with the section because he wouldn't drop into my pelvis (among other reasons) which led the docs to believe that my pelvis couldn't accommodate his size. I just wanted him out safely so I didn't care how we had to get him out.

Yep same here I had the opposite issue. Baby measuring small, stomach measuring small. Led to a ton of NST's, growth sonos, dopplers and a whole lot of worry.
Then she is born a day before her due date at 7 lbs which is quite average.
They are wrong more than they are not with these "Measurements"

Re: Stomach Measuring Big?
My stomach was always measuring small and my kids were huge. There's a lot of gray area in these measurements.
