Personal conflict- school related
So we were supposed to move fairly soon. Everything’s on hold right now due to the pandemic. My son is 5 and in pre-k. He has had special ed service throughout this year. We have a CSE next week and it looks as though they have already chosen a teacher for him. I am very conflicted about switching school districts during this time and wonder if we should wait until things normalize with schools a bit. Then I question whether it’s a bad idea to start him on one district and switch mid year. I just feel there’s no way to decide right now while everything is in limbo. This whole thing is so weird

imo, if he starts his new school in Sept they will be starting with all the kids, clean slate as all the kids have been home since March

I would try to move him before September if you can. If you can't I don't think it's the end of the world.
I also don't think it's impossible to move. I get a handful of new listing alerts every day. It's definitely slower but I don't think impossible.

Yes, this. Closings are definitely still happening.
The whole thing is weird and I don't envy your position. I guess I would start him with the new district in September so that he would have continuity of care once things normalized again.

I would say its better to move before September if you can and start the year fresh with a new classroom... if you are changing districts you will just need to have a CSE with the new SD.
