Same here with us. I let DH make this choice because I felt it was more personal to him. And since DH is circumcised, DH chose to have DS circumcised.
If is also a boy, we will get him circumcised as well.

No, we didn't do it with either of my boys, for several reasons.
We don't feel the medical benefits outweigh the risks. We felt like putting our sons through that kind of pain for no medical reason was unnecessary, and that unless it was a medical emergency our sons should keep all of their private parts unless they decided to change them.
Cleanliness isn't an issue, and the rates are 50/50 so there is no issue IMO

yes, for religious reasons mostly - but I would have done it either way.
I have to say my DS didn't feel anything at the Bris, didn't cry at all, and never cried from pain afterwards. It was almost healed in 2-3 days and was much easier on everyone then I thought it was going to be! It took longer for his belly button to fall off than to heal from the bris!!

same for me
and there have been recent studies that say that men who are circumcised have a lower risk of STDs.

Same here... we did it for our religion, but I would've done it anyway. He was fine at the Bris. He cried, but that was as soon as they took his clothes off. Healed well too and of course they can't remember it.

no he isn't. DH chose. He's not circumcised so DS isn't as well.

This was my reasoning too.
I did leave the decision up to DH since we knew we were having a boy but he couldn't decide ( I wasn't for it but DH is circumcised). I was finally in labor and the nurse asked us what we were doing and he said he didn't know and that I should decide so I did. I don't regret it all.
Another reason that I opted out of it is the possibility of re-attaching and then having to go through it again.

Yes we circumsized my son. In all honesty, I didnt research it much and we just did it because all the men in the family are. If we have another boy (I'm preggo with #3) we will do it. I'm far more educated this time around, but I'm mainly doing it because I would want him to "look like" his brother and father so he doesnt feel weird.

Same here, however it partially reattached, and the dr. that did it in the hospital actually left extra foreskin, so now it has to be redone, and that upsets me. So if I have another I probably won't do it.

Re: Very Personal Poll: Circumcision Related
no, dh's isn't done, he's never had an issue.
never an infection, never been turned down, never made fun of in a locker room.
dh's nephew was circumcised, he is 2 years older then our boy. his father wanted it done...it was a botched job, too much cut off...had to have 2 corrective surgeries to keep it from growing tight. that sealed the deal for me.
i believe its a pleasure point as well. dh said it wasn't up to us to take his love glove away...he can do it one day if he wants to.
i know people always have an uncle or a friends cousin with an uncomfortable tale...but for dh's family, nothing like that has ever happened. 6 uncles, over 20 males cousins, now a new generation of boys. I am sure it does happen, but i don't think as much as people think.
I had a ped from India tell me that uncut is so much easier to care for and much less of a problem then cut.
