Brewing coffee
How do you brew a perfect cup of coffee? I am the only coffee drinker in my house so I always bought from Dunkin but I am so over it. I have tried brewing myself at home but it always seems watery. I HATE how strong Starbucks coffee is. I only use half and half in my coffee.
Any tips on brand of coffee and how much coffee vs water to use?

I have a grind and brew coffee pot so I buy whole beans. I use the scooper that came with it (I think all the coffee scoops are the same size) and I use one scoop of beans to one cup of coffee. To make it a little stronger I sometimes add an extra scoop. And always measure the cups of water using the coffee pots measurement.
In other directions for already ground coffee, they usually recommend one tablespoon of coffee for one cup of water
I use the coffee beans from shoprite, breakfast blend. It’s not strong but I love the flavor.

I have been brewing my own coffee for 20+ years, only because I cannot leave my house in the morning without having a couple of cups in me already.
I agree with the above poster to use the coffee pot's water measuring levels. I use 4 cups of water and 4 rounded tablespoons of coffee. I prefer Folgers Classic Roast {medium} ground coffee.
It may take a week or 2 to get it just how you like it. For example, you may prefer a flattened tablespoon of coffee as opposed to my rounded tablespoon.
ETA- I used the wrong terminology for measuring tablespoons.

Brewing coffee
I buy Folgers Black Silk for my husband, it's a darker roast. I've also used Folgers Medium Roast, Maxwell House Columbian Roast, Chock Full of Nuts Medium Roast.
We have a Keurig, so we prepare as we drink.
When I do make an actual pot of coffee though, I use the pot's measuring lines. The more coffee I make, the more scoops I add. So for a full 12 cup pot, I add 7 scoops of coffee, rounded, not heaping. For 4 cup pot, I add 2 scoops, plus a tiny bit.

i did folgers medium roast. i believe i did 1 Tbs for every 2 cups of water.
but as others have said, it might take you a couple of weeks to find your sweet spot. don't give up.
i have a keurig attachment to our fridge water dispenser. so easy and one less thing on the kitchen counter.

it is pretty damn cool.
it's the GE Cafe line of refrigerators.
HERE'S a link to the fridge at Best Buy.
the fridge has cold and hot water dispenser. the keurig pod holder is detachable. you put the pod in, close it, slide it into the fridge slot, press how many ounces you want, and wait for the water to heat up.

I am not a coffee drinker myself but I use the French Press to make DH's coffee. I use 3 rounded scoops of freshly ground coffee beans and I eyeball the water, I just know where to fill it up to in my particular French Press. He likes his coffee dark and black so I usually use the darkest, richest French Roast beans that I can find. You can find a lot of really good ones on Amazon.
ETA - I have the Cuisinart Electric Coffee Grinder, it's excellent.

I use a French press
Also have a drip coffee maker as well as pour over ones
But I like to her my afternoon cup from Dunkin’ lol. Couldn’t tell you why

I notices some coffee cans state using a table spoon ( chock full o nuts) coffee for 6 oz and some say use teaspoon per 6 oz (.melitta)
I noticed I seem to use a lot of coffee... not sure why.
I also notice 6 oz in a real measuring cup is not equal to a coffee makers 6 oz, so directions on measurement for the coffee grinds do not match the maker ever.
I bought a percolator a last month, broke down and did and have been using this vs drip maker.
I can't see no matter what I use get the coffee right.
all I know if I go through grinds like crazy.

After we redid our kitchen we realized we should have had the plumber run a line to a Keurig like that while the walls were down.

I don't drink coffee, but I know from my family that the percolator uses more coffee than the automatic drip coffee maker. I think my husband uses 2 tablespoons per 6 oz cup in the percolator, so coffee just for himself is 4 tablespoons , and filled to the 2 cup mark.

Different methods extract the coffee differently
I also find that the lines on the coffee maker are THEIR idea of cups
For instance my measuring cup shows 1 cup as 8 ounces
My coffee maker shows 1 cup as 5 ounces
The team cup is used differently
You really have to do some math lol but once you figure out your brew (how many spoonfuls, what type of spoon, how many cups/ounces) it is cheaper than going daily to a coffee place

let me share with you a little info that will help you feel better about not having it done.
you cannot get it done. keurig does not sell the plumbed machines to the general public. they make them only for companies that offer coffee service and are only used for for business that sign up for coffee service from the supplier.
i found this out when i was investigating it all for my office. i wanted to ditch our coffee supplier and was investigating going rogue with having our own machine. i was politely told that keurig doesn't make them to be sold to john q. smith.
