Sleep issue brewing - How do I prevent this from becoming a bigger problem?
My DS is 6 months old and has been STTN since 4 months. He generally sleeps 7:30PM-7AM.
I've noticed that these last few days he's having more and more trouble falling asleep on his own. I used to put him down and he would fall asleep quickly. If he woke up at 4AM to babble, he'd fall asleep on his own again.
Tonight he was falling asleep as I was giving him his bottle, like usual. I put him in his crib and he tried to get comfy. After 10 minutes he still wasn't alseep (I watch in the monitor). At times his eyes would close but then he'd open them again and turn his head from side to side. After 15 minutes he started fussing. I gave him his pacifier (which he doesn't usually need) but not even that worked although it does sometimes. More turning his head, droopy eyes, but no sleep. Finally after 40 minutes of him being in bed trying to fall asleep with little crying, I picked him up (which i never do) rocked him for 3 minutes, and he fell asleep and went back in his crib.
How do I help him? I'm scared this will get progressively worse and that I'll have to resort to something drastic like CIO and I'd rather not.

I wouldn't worry about it... he's still so little. I BF/rocked DD to sleep every night until a few weeks ago when she decided she didn't want to be rocked anymore (she's 8 months).

My DD does this too alot of nights.. Same head movements etc.. She is only 3 months. I leave her and eventually she will fall asleep. If she cries, I go in and hold her for a bit. I dread resorting to CIO also...hopefully it doesnt happen.
