February Break (school)
Off the original topic, but I’d just like to say that it’s nice to hear that other kids scream like lunatics while playing video games, too. Thought it was just my kids!

February Break (school)
There is no good reason for February Break. I would rather them end school 4 days early or to add a few long weekends in. We asked our district numerous times why won't they remove the week and it all comes down to BOCES. The districts model their school calendar after BOCES and if they keep the week then the districts have too. Sounds like BS and it should be revisited by the DOE.

Can they just get rid of it and end school a week earlier?
This school break is scaring me because there is nothing to do bc it’s so cold. Only thing to do is have indoor play dates and other irresponsible things. February is going to be even colder and everyone is going to be even more “covid fatigued” that I feel like they should just eliminate it.
I am a teacher and this is the worst school year ever. I need the mental break from teaching like a first year teacher again. February break is a total recharge for me.
This word for word. I feel your pain

Re: February Break (school)
Kids hardly go to school now. I think they are trying to do away with school all together. Feb. break, week remote, it’s the same crap now.

LOL right? I'm sure Bill Gates is "reimagining" something as we speak.

Same.
I’ve had to redo every single lesson for all of my preps since nothing translates well in this hybrid, socially distanced model.

I am working my A** off this year. 3 different preps and grade levels, 180 students and nothing I've done in the past works in this model. Thank goodness I love my students because it's the only thing keeping me going. I tell my husband almost every day that I want to take a leave of absence until this ends.

My 5th grader hasn’t been to school since before Thanksgiving- he went a whopping 4 times in November...
ETA - and they all play video games and scream during break - which is pretty large with gym and lunch back to back lol.
