Even though you get the vaccine, Dr. Fauci still said you need to wear masks, social distance and isolate from your family/friends. He doesnt know how long for. There’s still a chance you get sick or get people sick, they don’t know how long it protects you for. Based on this, I see no reason for me to get this vaccine right now. Maybe if it was 1 dose I would consider it. But to get two doses and then maybe have to get two more doses in the fall during the actual season. I rather wait on it.
And this is ignoring if there would actually be long term side effects of this vaccine, because no one can answer to this.
During the actual season???? You do know this has no season!!!

Yes, genius!!!???!! Just like cold and flu really don’t have a season because you can get it any time of the year but we call it The Cold Flu Season. If this vaccine has to be taken yearly, I see it trending where you take it in the fall because that is most likely when this virus will kick up the worse. Since all the experts can not definitively answer how many times we have to take this vaccine or how long it last, I do not think it makes sense for me to get it by the time I’m allowed this season.

Exactly. Notice how the numbers went down in the summer? And spiked up again in the fall? And if anyone thinks the flu has a season, they are mistaken. You can get the flu anytime of year. I once got it in the late spring/almost summer. It's less prevalent in the summer for the same reason Covid was - people gathering more outside, school not in session, etc

Yep just like every other year. I usually get colds at this time of the year when we are all stuck inside, even at work people will stay in for lunch because of the cold and won't take breaks outside.
I HAVE gotten viruses in the summer, I remember one very bad one many moons ago and I was sitting outside in the middle of the summer but for the most part, I have always gotten things when it has gotten colder.

Vaccine....I need some education
I spoke to a doctor who said it will last a year, hence the annual shot. he said that beginning in (likely) 2023, the flu and covid vaccine will be combined into one shot to be taken annually.

Then the vaccines will have to drastically change. At least one of them. The current flu vaccine can't be frozen or it's no good. The current Covid vaccines must remain frozen (until being used) or they are no good.
I'm wondering how he knows how long the antibodies will last when Moderna and Pfizer don't really know....

Re: Vaccine....I need some education
He must have ESP. The people who participated in the vaccine trials haven't had in their system a year yet- so how would anyone know it will last a year when we haven't even reached the year mark yet?

Exactly and that is why a lot of people do not want to take this vaccine. There is not enough time to know how and if it actually works.

They don't know if it works as masks still need to be worn and social distancing because they are not sure if you can still get sick and pass it along.

Once we reach herd immunity we will no longer need masks...because it works. This is now vaccines work. Until a certain percentage is vaccinated (typically 75%), there is the risk of continued severe illness because the vaccine has a 5% failure rate. So once enough people have it, when if it does not prevent asymptomatic infection, it will absolutely prevent severe illness and hospitalizations. 95% efficacy means it has been proven to work. God, our world is in trouble.

So give a number. Exactly how long is long enough for this vaccine to be tested in order to be "safe"?

No clue honestly. I would have to see how people react to it. If numbers are going down dramatically. How many shots it takes for all of this to happen.

Re: Vaccine....I need some education

I’m able to sign up to get the vaccine and I’m so on the fence. I want to do it to just end this craziness but there are so many unanswered questions.
They talked about changing the dosage amounts on one of them....is this something that should be concerning? Pumping extra into you when it’s not necessary?
How long do the antibodies in the vaccine actually last? This is what’s holding me back. The fact that I can’t get a straight answer on how long this will last and how often I need to get it. It just goes back to my original reason for not getting it....it hasn’t been around long enough.
I just can’t decide what to do! I need to hear some educated opinions.
I haven’t heard or read about changing in dosage. But if that’s the case, u’ll hear different answers depending on the person u’re talking to. For me, it would be concerning because it would mean the amount of components going into the body will increase. Just like with any other vaccine, my concern is not only about the virus within the vaccine (which does not seem to be the case for the Covid vaccine) but also the other components...adjuvants, stabilizers, preservatives, heavy metals, byproducts, proteins, etc. and how they can be perceived by the body in the short/long run.
They do not know for sure how long the antibodies (due to the vaccine) last, at least not more than 2 months. They only have speculations and suggestions but nothing certain. In fact there are a lot of known unknowns.
They can’t evaluate the efficacy outcomes in specific groups of individuals. For the high risk population, they were able to work with older individuals and provide info for that group but not for other groups like with immunocrompromised individuals.
For people that have had covid previously, they have very limited data that suggests these people can get reinfected and even less info on whether they can benefit from the vaccine. I found it interesting that people that were previously infected with covid were excluded for the phase 3 studies.
They can’t tell if the vaccine prevents asymptomatic infection either by detecting the virus or antibodies.
They have no info on the effectiveness of the vaccine against mortality.
They don’t know if the vaccine can help prevent transmission from individuals who are infected despite vaccination.
They can’t conclude if it’s safe on subpopulations like children under 18, pregnant and lactating women, and immunicompromised people.
They can’t tell if vaccine enhance disease is possible over time and if it’d be associated with waning immunity from the vaccine.
They also can’t determine all the adverse reactions/events that the vaccine can bring or the seriousness of those reactions during the trials.
For me, personally, the risks of this vaccine and the amount of unknowns are way more conrcerning than the actual virus which has such a high survival rate. But again that’s my opinion.

please call your doctor for their opinion.
I’ve recently switched to a new office and they seem to be pushing it and giving the line “why wouldn’t you want to help slow the spread”.
So I’m trying to do my own research
Please do not let anyone push u or make u feel guilty about not getting (or getting) the vaccine. I really dislike when people do this! It’s ur choice, vaccines are medical procedures that should not be treated lightly, but talked lengthily. Ultimately the decision is urs based on ‘full’ informed consent.
