To answer the question, yes I qualify. I feel slightly guilty as I have been working FT throughout the pandemic, but in this county, benefits to tax payers are so small that I am getting past that. I am actually glad that it’s capped somewhat. The last two stimuli I kept thinking of my wealthy ex boyfriend getting the checks for his minor children and it made me irritated.
That said, I’m sure there are people capped who could greatly benefit from the relief and I am sorry for that.
I think that is directed to single people or married couples with no kids living in lower COL areas. It’s not fair that a family of 4 on Long Island making $180k gets nothing. But a couple with no kids making $140k gets full amount.

I'm not really understanding this answer. Yes because you did not have kids or married you did not have the above mentioned events but you also didn't pay for schools, braces, doctors, clothes, food, entertainment, therapies and the million other things it takes to raise children. What I meant by my post is that if they are not giving the stimulus check to every person, which they are not, then it should only be given those who were adversely affected by the Covid shut down. Many people were not affected at all and are still receiving the full benefit. It should have gone to those in need.

Candy selling out in my area typically has to do with when greek easter falls compared to catholic/protestant easter. If they are on the same day it sells out very early. If greek easter is a week later there is usually a decent amount left over because they know people will still be buying. This year they are almost a month apart so I would assume the stores didn't want to have an abundance left after today, and stocked accordingly. Not sure what all the greeks will do this year. Anyway, I used to own a candy store, that's the only reason I know this! Sorry for the derailed post.

I have never seen it like this before and while I usually shop earlier, I have gone the day before and gotten everything I was looking for. The woman at the store said they were crazy on Thursday and they were sold out after that day.

first of all, I'm actually replying to Hopefulmamma as she replied to my comment. Apologies if that wasn't clear.
However, please don't assume because I have no children I never paid for braces, school, therapy or medical bills. and some of the millions of other "things" or events parents pay for are not always necessary IMO.
Neither of the of the last 2 checks did I receive. can I use them yes, and I'll have add them to my taxes. I'm one income trying to live on LI stressing daily. In fact I'm one person who until over a years ago had 3 jobs.
I'm thankful I had a job during the pandemic, and do agree it should be to those only affected by COVID.

Why would things like parties as a kid affect your adulthood?
Why can’t you have special birthdays if you are not married?
Many single people I know make a lot more than couples.
