Does anybody hate the city?
I really truely do!!
I only go there if it is for Andrew.
Am I the only one?
Please do not take offense to this if you love the city etc.
It is just not exciting to me.

I hate NYC. I'm a commuter and I wouldn't never go in on the weekends. I can't wait to get back to the 'burbs after work.

I don't want to say I hate it but it doesn't do it for me. My DH works in NYC & he says it is an amazing place. With that said, he hates to go in on his time off.
I know for myself, I could NEVER live in the city. I have too much of a surburb mentality....We have friends that live there & think we are nuts for living on the island....I guess it takes a certain person...

That's exactly how I feel. On any given day I can go see a world class performance, wander around a fantastic museum or meet DH for dinner at an amazing restaurant. I love it, I wish we'd been able to live there before we had kids but it didn't work out.

I LOVE the city.
I live a stop away on the train (Queens).
I have to admit though, I like it more for recreation..Ive never worked in the city and probably dont want to.

I have worked in midtown Manhattan for 8 years. If I never stepped foot in the city for the rest of my life again, I would not shed a tear. DH on the other hand....loves it.

I don't hate it..but I dislike commuting to it daily. I would prefer to live somewhere quiet. I do like shopping here though

I love the city.
I think if you ere coming in to hang out in the parks, wander around, etc, you would enjoy it more.
My dad hates the city. When we took my parents to see Sweeney Todd & walked around, he saw a different side of it & enjoyed it.

I do! I worked there for 3 1/2 years. I went in there over the weekend for the first time in a long time and it reminded me just how much I hate it!

Totally agree - I love the city. That said, I've never had to commute to the city nor have I ever lived there...but I've always wanted to (live there, that is).

I could never live in the city but I LOVE IT.
I love to see plays, go to museums shop, eat anywhere, its just so alive no matter what time it is.
Plus I love to just walk all over and people watch too LOL
People would kill to be this lucky. Thats why LI is one of the most $$$ places to live. We have it all within our reach here.

I am a tried and true city rat (hence the posts of today)
I cannot imagine living in a place where there is NOTHING to do that doesn't require a car.
and that's not even discussing the PIZZA/BAGEL/FOOD situation.

it really is different if you live there.....I moved out of the city after 5 years last August and I truly miss it. It is totally different fighting the crowds and traffic just to go in for a few hours, but living there is a different story....

It's a love/hate relationship... I would love it so much more if I didn't have to commute every day. I shudder at the thought of coming in on the weekends when I've been going back and forth all week. Its unfortunate.
ETA: I do love it when I have to meet with a client at the other end of town... it gives me something different to admire than the same old boring Park Ave. offices.

Anthony HATES the city with the passion. Heck, he hates long island. Hes more of a country person
