2 month old bedtime routine?

DD is 2 months and we don't really have a bedtime routine yet. I'm finding it hard because she typically nurses between 6 and 7 and then take a little snooze, wakes and then goes to bed between 9 and 9:30. I don't know if I should be letting her take that last snooze, but I feel like she needs it. She can't make it between those last two feedings. The earlier evening feeding is too early for her for bed I feel like though. She is still waking 2x a night usually aroun 1 or 2 and then again at like 4. Any tips/advice? Can u share your 2 month olds evening routine?

Re: 2 month old bedtime routine?

for the past week DS (10 weeks) has been on this schedule:

5:30/6:00 AM - 4oz.
falls back asleep on and off until 7:30AM

8:30/9AM - next bottle
30 minute nap sometime in between the next feeding

11:30/12PM - bottle
2 Hour nap

3:00/3:30PM- bottle
30 min nap sometime in between the next feeding

6:30/7PM - bottle
Falls asleep until next feeding or takes a short nap again

10:30/11PM - gets his last bottle
Falls asleep eating and I swaddle him, he sleeps til the morning.

He's kind of getting into a routine but his naps can change daily....but we're slowly getting there.

Do you swaddle at night? We only swaddle at night and its been working with him sleeping longer stretches, also we only put him in the PNP in our bedroom at night, during the day he naps in the swing or bouncy or mini PNP in the living room...never swaddled.

We usually start bedtime around 9. Sometimes it involves a bath (then we start earlier) and sometimes it doesn't. We go in turn the lights off, put the sound machine on, change diaper, put on PJs, swaddle then sit for a bottle.
Usually she is out about halfway through the bottle.

As for napping beforehand sometimes she falls asleep in the evening, but I try to make sure she is up by 7-7:30 so that we can put her to bed by 9:30-10.

I started trying to cluster nurse her to get her to go longer stretches so this is how our nights look:

5:30: nurse
6:00: she hangs out in the swing or bouncy while I do dinner (or the moby if she's cranky)
7:00-7:45 nurse
8:00: bath (read a little book) cuddle, swaddle nice and tight
8:15 till about 8:30 nurse
8:30: bed

All followed pretty loosely, we have no schedule during the day, I just follow her cues. I try to follow this at night, but basically I follow her lead if shes hungry I nurse her, etc.

She gets up at around 12 and 4. I tried pushing her "bedtime" back longer, but she just wants to sleep.

Re: 2 month old bedtime routine?

DS had been going to bed at about 9ish, but now that I'm at work and he is in daycare, he is tired earlier. Somewhere between 7:30 and 8:30 (depending on whether he is showing sleepy signs earlier), I bring him up to his room, change his diaper (whether it is clean or dirty - I just want to give him a fresh one for bed) and put on his pajamas. I nurse him while I read him a book and then I hum a lullaby. When he is practically asleep, I put him in his crib, give him a kiss, and turn the light off (it is on a dimmer, so it gets put pretty low after the diaper change). He then sleeps through until about 6:00/6:15.

He falls asleep a lot on the ride home, but usually wakes within 5 minutes of walking in the door. Sometimes though I have to wake him at about 7:30 so he doesn't wake up at like 3am. Those nights I start bedtime by 9. I always start at 9 the latest - even if we are somewhere else. I make sure to pack PJs if we are going to be out late.

Re: 2 month old bedtime routine?

DS goes to bed between 9 and 10. He has a 5:30/6:00 bottle then usually takes a short nap. It's too soon for bed at that time so I usually do his routine at the 9/10pm bottle. Every other day or so he gets a bath. Every night we change him, give him his bottle, if he's still awake read him a book, then put him in his crib to "watch the animal show" (projection mobile). Once he's asleep, he will sleep until 7ish.

Re: 2 month old bedtime routine?

DS is 10 weeks today, and we have no routine. He wakes up between 5 and 7 a.m. and the length of his naps varies, esp when i bf vs bottle, so I haven't bothered. Hopefully he'll get a bit more consistent in the next few weeks!
