24 hour urine collection
Is torture for a 36+ pregnant woman! Having to remember to go get my pee bucket from the fridge (YUCK) everytime I go pee (which is about 609982 times a day), peeing in the cup...all the exact opposite of what I want to be doing at this point in the game. But bc of my stupid high bp they have to check for protein in my urine.
I need a fast forward button so I can be holding my little guy already!

Re: 24 hour urine collection
I had to do this at 20 weeks!!! It was horrible, I can't imagine how bad it must be at 36 weeks. I'm sure you're almost done, but I found that it helped to pee into a red Solo cup standing up in the shower, then pour it into the jug. Sorry, that was very TMI!
I gagged every time I had to open that jug to pour more in there! Blech!!!!
Hang in there, you're SO close!!!!!!

Thanks for the tip! I've actually been using a little plastic cup and then pouring into the jug. Thank goodness this is only for 24 hours!

i did the same thing, peed into a cup and then put it in the jug. i was 32w when i had to do it and they wanted me to do it at work the next day..mind you i worked in the city. i said i am absolutely not carrying around a jug of pee to work with me. i did it that weekend and then handed it monday...and was in the hospital on bedrest the next day..and delivered 5 days later...so i guess it was good i did it when i did!!

Oh I definitely would have refused to commute with my pee jug too! I'm really hoping they don't find any protein, I'm not trilled with being induced at 38 weeks as it is and really don't want to move it up even more. But we shall see!

Re: 24 hour urine collection
Ugh. They stink! I had to do a few of them when I was preggo with my daughter. See if you can get a "hat" for the toilet so that you can pee normally in the potty and the hat will catch all the pee. It has a little spout to pour into the collection container!

Re: 24 hour urine collection
I know how you feel. I had to do this at 33 weeks. It was so disgusting! Every time I had to open it I thought I was going to vomit and it made me sick to think it was in my fridge.

Re: 24 hour urine collection
I had to do this too at 37 weeks with DS#1, it did lead to an induction for me bc of preclampsia.

Re: 24 hour urine collection
I did that at 36 weeks with my first pregnancy. I was put on bedrest right before Thanksgiving and had to do the 24 hour urine collection over Thanksgiving. It sucked. Hang in there.

Re: 24 hour urine collection
i had to do that when I had ds........
I was 35 1/2 weeks, when I gave it back to them they ended up putting me on bedrest due to the results.....
the one they gave me didn't have to be refridgerated, but it was still a PITA lugging it in a tote bag to the bathroom at work every time I had to go.
