2nd B-day party at home questions

Im thinking of having a small kiddie party at the house for my son's 2nd birthday. It would be 6 kids.
I did it last year but I was clueless and didnt really have any games or anything like that planned out. It was a bunch of kids running around like lunatics basically LOL
Now- Im starting to get a game plan together.
I was thinking of making cupcakes and having a table set up so that they can each decorate their own and some games.
What else is there to do? There are 2- 2 year olds and the others are about 4-5 year old so I want something where all of the kids were happy.
Also- what about entertainment? maybe a clown or something to come in, do a little show, facepaint or something? how much do those typically cost and if you are doing a home party would you suggest it?

I just had my son's 2nd birthday this weekend. There were 5 kids ages 2-5. I didnt plan any activities, never even thought to. DS's toys were out and with the snacks and all the company they seemed to be entertained.
