Re: 3+ year age gap

My boys are 3.5 years apart. I love the age difference. DS1 was potty trained and I liked only having 1 in diapers. He was old enough to understand if I needed to tend to the baby and he enjoyed helping out. My boys have loved each other from the beginning. There was no jealousy. They get along really well and love wrestling around with each other (in a gentle way).

I have a 6 and 8 year age gap between #'s 1 and 2 and my 3rd. The older two are independent, off to school all day, I got a lot of special time with the baby and the older ones were very helpful. I love it when they all play together. They are very good to their little brother.

I agree with this! I just had my 2nd a month ago & my first is 3.5 years. My oldest wants to help & is great at getting mommy something I need for the baby. He is also potty trained which is great! There is also no jealousy here! It's been great!

Thanks for posting this because I always wondered myself. TTC for a year and my DD will be 4 in the Fall. This gives me some hope!

Re: 3+ year age gap

My LO are almost exactly 3 years apart, by choice. Absolutely love the age difference. Older child is in nursery school most mornings; giving me time with the baby. The baby naps in the afternoon so I can be playing on the floor with my older one. It's perfect. Chat Icon
