Our Next Project.....the Laundry/Utility Room
So over this winter, we are going to tackle our laundry/utility room. Right now in the room is the washer/dryer, the boiler & hot water heater and a small freezer. It's also the room we walk thru to get to the backyard.
This is my vision of what the room will look like when we are done.
This is sort of the color I'm going for. It's a blue/green. The walls will be the blue/green color. There will be some white cabinets up high for storage of BBQ stuff and laundry stuff (in different cabinets of course ) The flooring will probably be a gray color stone tile. We will be covering up the boiler & hot water heater with louvered bi-fold doors so that it can still vent, but it will cover them up nicely and I don't have to look at them every day. They will be white. And I think there will be some black & white material as well to hide some pipes by the washer/dryer. We will also replace the back door with a nice new white door and a full glass screen door.
Louvered Bi-fold Doors
Flooring - something like these with gray in it.
Some B&W material for hiding the pipes. Something like this, but I haven't picked it out yet.
This is what the room looks like now.

I LOVE IT! It totally reminds me of one that I saw on Decorpad.com (for some reason the website is down right now).
I love the black and white Damask idea and it goes SO well with those colors.
Boy you don't take a break do you?
Cant wait to see the finished product!
ETA: Found the pic from Decorpad!

Thanks. It's a BM color, but I can't seem to find the color online right now. Sorry. It's not the exact color I will be painting my room. The color I'm using is a Valspar color and I don't know that name either. I'll have to find it when I go home.

Thanks Heather! That is where I got my inspiration room from (decorpad) I just love the b&w with the blue/green color.
Take a break? What does that mean?
I can't wait to start this project. I hate doing laundry in that ugly room. The floor never seems to be clean enough and I always worry about dropping clothes on the floor.

Yes!!! My laundry room is in our unfinished basement. I bought one of those laundry mats that stretch across both the washer and dryer so if I drop clothes during transfer - they fall on the mat.
I love that color too Jen!!! I'm totally stealing it for my bathroom (different floor though - promise).
I can't wait to see your laundry room!!!

I have a rug there, but because we walk in and out to get to the backyard, it's hard to keep clean.
It's it a great color Jenn. I feel in love with it and it also goes with the lighter blue/green wall in the Family Room (which is just next to this room)

Re: Our Next Project.....the Laundry/Utility Room
I once saw on a blog someone had painted what looked like bubbles on the wall around the washing machine and up toward the ceiling. It sounds crazy, but it was really cute.
If I can remember where and grab the pic I'll post it.

Re: Our Next Project.....the Laundry/Utility Room
Just one word of caution - if you're thinking of black and white fabric to hide the pipes by the water heater and boiler that would be a big fire hazard - not a good idea to have flamable items that close to the furnace. You would be better off with a folding screen if you really need to hide all that. It would still be a bit of a hazard, but less so.

Thanks Karen, but no that is not what I was hiding. I wil bel hiding the pipes for the washer and dryer. The furnace and hot water heater will be hidden by the vented bi-fold doors, sort of like putting up a wall, but not. Thanks for your concern!

Thanks! I fell in love the first time I saw my inspiration pic.
You are too funny. I don't know about all day long, but laundry won't be so hard to do any more once we are done.
