Between it just disappearing in mid air. And 2 people being able to get on with STOLEN passports. It's scary as hell!
HOW is that even possible. HOW does the system not pick up stolen passports? That's a major security breech to the system.

missing malaysia airplane....
I think it's horrifying and feel terrible for those families. There were 5 children under 5 on the plane too.
To not have any idea what happened or even where it is and to not find one piece of debris is absolutely crazy....and scary

Re: missing malaysia airplane....
I'm not gonna lie, this story has been freaking me the fluck out for days now. Seriously freaked out. WHERE IS THAT PLANE? Why are passengers' phones still ringing and ringing when people call? If a phone is 'off' (or, presumably, submerged under thousands of feet of water) wouldn't it go straight to voicemail? How does a plane disappear in midair?

Yeah this is SERIOUSLY disturbing. Seriously. If that plane crashed or exploded, there would be some kind of floating debris no? Flotation devices on the plane would be floating at least? Bodies? Ugh, this is the strangest, scariest thing ever.

I hadn't heard about the phones ringing. If the phones are ringing, the plane isn't submerged. It's probably in the jungle.

Exactly what I've been thinking. Why is there not one piece of the plane to be found?! So odd and scary. And most cell phones now have GPS locators in them. Why can't they try and work with that? A pp mentioned the phones are still ringing, so they are on?

CNN had an expert on and said the phone ringing theory is not true. When you try to call a phone and the sattelite is trying to get a signal and locate the phone on the other side, it will ring. It just means its searching. It does not mean the phone is not underwater or blown up or whatever.

I don't believe for a second that no one knows where it is. This isn't a US-based airline. This is an Asian airline, we have no jurisdiction and no way to really know whether what we are being told is true. That's the cynic in me, I know, but this reeks of coverup.

Yeah I don't buy that either. When your phone is off, someone calling you is not going to hear ringing, it goes right to VM. Why would a phone being underwater change that?

I may or may not have told my DH that I am 100% convinced that the plane is now in a parallel universe.
I may or may not at the time also have suggested that LIF was on the same parallel universe...
(Disclaimer: while I am being somewhat jokey about this because it FREAKS ME THE FLUCK OUT, my heart is with the families and loved ones of the passengers and I hope they get some answers soon.)

Re: missing malaysia airplane....
as someone just mentioned, you would think there has to be some type of GPS to locate or get a guestimate location.
and I agree with a previous poster that there is going to be some type of cover up. How can you just lose a plane?

This expert seems to clearly explain it.

Networks are different around the world. In Asia the cell phone network is probably more developed (sometimes even better) than in the US.
I am also wondering where it could be? It's a huge plane! How can it just disappear?
They are either looking in the wrong place, or it ihas landed on Sumatra or some other island and the people are OK. I hope it's the latter.
I read something that a witness saw fire off the coast of Vietnam, but this sighting is not confirmed yet. I thought they said the plane turned around, but now they are saying that's not true.
I'm completely obsessed with this story.

There is, and I read it will work for up to a couple of weeks. Why it hasn't been located based on the information from that is beyond me. I think "they" know more than they are letting on.

It took 5 days to find the first sign of of AF 447 in 2009, 2 male bodies then 6 days for the first sign of wreckage. They never sent a distress signal, and it took 2 years to recover the black boxes.

Re: missing malaysia airplane....
What I want to know is why is there even an option to turn the transponder off?? I mean, shouldn't that just be a given that is should be on when a plane is in the air? I wonder if there is really like and "on/off" switch that the pilots can easily access? I never got that

Yes, but didn't those involved in the recovery know where they were looking? This is freaky because nobody knows where to begin looking!

missing malaysia airplane....
I've been following this story closely. All the research I've done makes me think that someone on the plane intentionally crashed the plane. This would explain the lack of any distress call and the plane locator services being turned off. The other possibly would be a catastrophic mechanical or electrical failure.

They found debris one-two days after it disappeared.

I haven't read that much about this story but can't they at least see where it went off the radar and look in that vicinity?
This just doesn't make any sense to me either.
