It was NOT debris from the plane. Aviation at the airports are saying accoring to downloaded data, the plane flew for 5 hours. So it must be a lot further away than they are searching
Nope that wasn't it either. Soooo weird.

U.S. officials believe that the missing Malaysia Airlines jetliner may have crashed in the Indian Ocean and is moving the USS Kidd to the area to begin searching. It will take another 24 hours to move the ship into position, a senior Pentagon official told ABC News. "We have an indication the plane went down in the Indian Ocean," the senior official said. The official said there were indications that the plane flew four or five hours after disappearing from radar and that they believe it went into the water.

DH keeps swearing that one of the first reports that was out was that there were 100 diplomats on this plane. But it hasn't been reported since.

A lot of time, the media reports a lot of stuff that isn't confirmed during the first hours of an incident. Once it is found to be inaccurate, they won't report it any more. I'm sure it was something like that.

I did hear that they believe the data reporter and transponder were manually turned off at 1:07am and 1:21am respectively. That is very suspicious.

I find this to be very suspicious it seems unlikely now that whatever Happened to to plane was not an accident. I just wish they would find it quickly because those poor families are just being tortured with all the what ifs.

No, I definitely don't think it was accidental anymore. Especially that the engine transmitted a signal hours later back to Rolls Royce near the Indian Ocean.

Agreed. Mayny for the people on that plane and many for the families. I have a weird feeling the passengers are alive somewhere.

I was saying this to a coworker today. Based on what is coming out, it doesn't sound like they crashed....I said, I wonder it they landed in some remote location somewhere and everyone is alive. I hope if they are, they are being fed and are OK. I just think of the babies on the flight, if they are alive somewhere, I hope someone is taking care of them.

Re: missing malaysia airplane....
This story is insane. I also am not a huge history buff by any means but was there a plane that was kidnapped in the 70s or 80s and some of them were eventually released? I'm super tired right now so I may be confusing that with something else.....in any event I agree that the family just need to get some closure on this already.

missing malaysia airplane....
Besides the obvious questions
The other main thing that boggles me is the passengers with the wrong passports

I think this too! And if they are negotiating...that may be why we aren't being told anything/all the conflicting info. And if the plane did land intact somewhere, and the plan for it still unfolding, that would be why nobody has claimed responsibility for it.

Re: missing malaysia airplane....
I'm not big into conspiracy theories but I feel certain our department of defense knows where the plane is. They monitor EVERYTHING in the air space, the atmosphere, etc. If the plane landed, it would have to land someplace where there is a long stretch of pavement, like a highway or a runway. A plane that large cannot land on an unpaved surface without it being destroyed in the process. I really think they know where it is and for whatever reason are not releasing the information yet.

Re: missing malaysia airplane....
I don't think the people are alive. I think the plane is in the ocean or crashed on land in a remote area.
IF they were alive, I find it crazy to think not a single person would have shot out a text message? I could see if the terrorists told them not to but how could two people (or even a handful) control a group of over 200 people. I just think it's not likely they're alive.
Also, if this is a hostage situation, wouldn't they have had a plan before the captured the plane? I can't imagine they'd be parked somewhere for days on end trying to decide what to do. Their hostages would be starting to drop dead while they figured things out. Just doesn't add up for me.
eta- There have been other terroristic attacks that weren't claimed for a while afterwards or at all for that matter.

Re: missing malaysia airplane....
if you land somewhere very remote there is a really good chance you wont have a signal. Hell, half the time on 25A I cant send a text message.

Re: missing malaysia airplane....
Part of me wonders if it was a suicide mission by one of the pilots...but that seems farfetched.
Slate posted an interesting article yesterday about how you could steal a jet.

I think the same and feel like whatever terrorist group is responsible for it hasn't "claimed" it yet because their still waiting to produce their "grand finale"...
Scary to think about it altogether! Whatever happened; my heart goes out to those passengers and their families.

I agree, I think it landed somewhere and these people have no signal to contact anyone. I just hope everyone is found alive.

I agree with this.
Whether it was terrorist, mechanical or due to the pilot. I don't know. But I do think it crashed.
