My theory: I think something sudden happened so the pilots turned to the nearest airport. Whatever happened was sudden and incapacitated everyone(depressurization) so the plane continued on route in the direction the pilots turned it before they died. Eventually the plane ran out of gas and crashed into the ocean.
Whatever this Doppler effect radar thing is they just discovered may have been a brand new technology and may have taken extra days to sort out. I get that. When they were sure about what the info meant, it showed the plane going in a direction that would have been 4 hours from land in every direction. With only a certain amount of gas in the plane it is totally realistic IMO to say it crashed in the ocean beyond reasonable doubt.
As much as I'd like to chase Zebras and hope these people are alive, I don't think its the case.
Ok but why were those transponders that track the plane, etc, manually turned off?

Re: missing malaysia airplane....
Posted by BabyBoy I think they were all dead before the crash. Basically like the Helios 522 flight.
Thank you for mentioning the Helios flight. i had never heard of it before but I think that it is as plausible theory as any.

There was only a quick blurb on the news tonight about the 122 pieces floating. I still think something is amiss with this whole story.

Same here. Never heard of it. Just read up on it on Wikipedia. Scary as hell. And makes the most sense to me. Has this been mentioned anywhere? I stopped listening/watching the news about this until they have some real evidence. So maybe it was discussed as a possibility.

missing malaysia airplane....
They talked about the Helios plane theory back when they first realized the plane made that left turn. I had to look it up, too. I had no idea!
It's part of my overall theory: Hijackers somehow took over, programmed the flight to go South. Their plot failed, but something went wrong. The flight zombie'd out and ran out of gas where it glided into the ocean.

Yes it was mentioned initially, but was shot down as a theory when the media started reporting that that left turn was programmed into the gps ahead of time. But now, since the left turn was apparently NOT pre-programmed, it is probably exactly what happened. Nothing else makes as much sense.

Re: missing malaysia airplane....
My theory is what has been stated before i believe...The pilot was on a suicide mission and unfortunately took everyone down with him.
His family moved out the day before this flight. His friend (another pilot) even stated that he prob wasn't in any condition to be flying. I really don't know. It is horrible to think if it isn't true, I mean there are many plausible theories. But I believe he turned off the transponders, and decided to take the plane down. I HOPE and PRAY that isn't true but it seems more believable than other theories.

That's so awful if that's true. Why take all those innocent people with him?

Quote from the article above "In a stunning turn, Australian authorities announced Friday they were abandoning the remote region of Indian Ocean where search crews had spent more than a week looking for the plane. A new analysis of satellite data showed the plane could not have flown that far south, they said." I thought there was advanced analysis that said the plane crashed there, which is what they told the families (via text!) and now they're saying the plane couldnt have even flown that far??? This is so absurd and insane. Those poor poor families!

its only 680 miles north, still in the same region just closer to Australia and a bit north. Apparently they believe the plane was flying much faster than normal which means it would have burned much more fuel and would not have made it to the region they originally believed. Current also plays a huge role since this was now 20 days ago!
