Most important issue for the next 4 years
What is the MOST important issue to YOU for the next four years? Only the number 1 reason.
My most important is the economy.
It directly affects my family’s daily life due to our occupations and it trickles down and affects some of the other important issues to us.

Re: Most important issue for the next 4 years
The economy is my big issue now. I have spoken freely about how I feel that the economy will continue in a recession and lead to a depression. I think whatever Administration takes over in 2020 has an uphill battle because this Administration has decimated our economy. All they refer to is the V shaped recovery which is not indicative of the economy. I believe that the V shaped recovery is actually a leading indicator of a coming depression. I believe that the squeeze out of Mom & Pop has allowed the big companies to increase market share. Big company is learning to do more with less workers and for a successful economy we need jobs and production. I am also very concerned with foreign policy. The huge national deficit with China being the biggest holder of US debt.

Most important issue for the next 4 years
Healthcare is most important to me. It makes me sick that people go bankrupt due to illness. I am much more concerned with the quality of the country as a whole rather than me as an individual. We are very fortunate but I ache for those who aren't and want the government to help them not to help me.

Climate change.
We can not afford to waist any more time.
I believe we will see the world end (or become largely uninhabited) in our lifetime if we don’t seriously change our ways.
Economy and health are all related as the damage to our environment is hurting us in these ways as well.

Most important issue for the next 4 years
The single most important issue to me? getting back to NORMAL CIVILITY.
We have had a nightmare of a creature leading our country, bringing out and emboldening the worst traits in citizens. When racists and hate groups and religious extremists are celebrating your win, it says something. When you can't drive out east with ease on a Sunday because a bunch of decorated Trump cars that say "F*CK YOUR FEELINGS" are holding up traffic for 15 miles and shouting gross things at anyone who doesn't honk back or acknowledge them, civility is the single most important thing to me.
It is the foundation on which everything else comes next.
A "great economy" means very little to me when the citizens of a country are acting like pieces of shit, coughing on people, screaming "jews will not replace us!" , threatening Dr. Fauci, harassing people and threatening to kidnap politicians, when armed vigilantes with small d!cks are charging state buildings, and means very little when forces are gassing and beating peaceful protestors.
Our country is in complete disarray. Soul of our country over money, always.

Economy, 100%. DH and I work so hard to provide for our kids and that’s really paramount.
As far as civility leaving- when did that happen and who owns it? I hope it comes back as well but its return seems conditional.

Most important issue for the next 4 years
Healthcare 100%, as I have a young child with a preexisting condition that could bankrupt us if it isn’t covered.

Healthcare. The unaffordable cost of healthcare has guided most of the financial decisions for our family for the last decade.

Definitely climate change. We won't get these years back. The clock is ticking.
Healthcare also, although that ship has most likely sailed now that Murkowski has officially flipped - not that it was a surprise.
With pre existing conditions no longer always protected we'll have big problems eventually.

He did but has not presented a comprehensive health plan that includes coverage of pre-existing conditions. It's just his word at this point.

They both have not presented clear plans.

Plans? It’s too late for plans. Trump had 4 years and a Republican Senate and got nothing done in terms of healthcare. Obama had ACA signed in March 2010, after taking office in 2009.
I’m more than confident that his teammate at the time, Joe Biden, would be a good architect to help fix the non-actions of Mr. Trump in the area of healthcare.

Exactly. For the first two years the executive and legislative branches were red. They had the votes to pass anything they wanted to. They failed. Enough already - they either don't know what they are doing or they don't care. I suspect it's some combination of the two.

They didn’t even have the votes to repeal the ACA. Which means the republicans would rather have the ACA than nothing. Trump just has a hard on for anything Obama did so that’s why he’s targeting it.

For my family personally, it's the economy. Second runner up - safety/foreign and domestic terrorism.

Our debt is out of control but China doesn't own most of the Nat'l debt. The US people do. China owns the most of any foreign country. China has a vested interest in keeping that debt. All of the worlds economies are linked. Destabilizing the US treasury market (how they buy the debt) could impact their economy as well. They did a sell off in 2015 of over 180 Billion dollars and it didn't even cause a ripple. Other countries wind up buying that debt. This is a complicated topic that many people don't understand.
