Re: a bit of a nervy question-

I am also in one of the lower paying districts on Long Island....

I am Masters + 15 and Step 11 and I will be making about 84,000. In Nassau County there is a wide range of pay scales. Two towns over the same teacher would be making at least 9,000 more.

Yes, I am fortunate to have a job on Long Island- I know that. However, it is still frustrating.....

Re: a bit of a nervy question-

At step 5 in my district with a master's you would make about 65K

I'm at step 9 and masters +75 and I will make about 84,000

It's a high performing, affluent district in suffolk

A group in Sachem put together a list a few years ago (was this b/c of their 18% budget increase?)

Sachem Unspun

You can calculate an average/moderate 3% increase for each year and I would bet that's close to the current salary.

i.e.

2004/05 = $60,000

2005/06 = 60000*1.03= 61,800

2006/07 = 61800*1.03=63,654

2007/08 = 63,654*1.03=65,564

2008/09 = 65,564*1.03=67,531

Re: a bit of a nervy question-

I am going into my ninth year in the NYC DOE. I have a Masters+30 and I earn a little over 75K per year. I think it is going up in September to 76-77K. I am happy with that salary.
