A question about your toddler
I am not quite sure how to word this, does anyone else's toddler love to have certain stuffed animals with them?
I'm not really talking about a lovey, Christopher has a blankie, but now he has a stuffed dog, a Ming Ming, Boots and Austin (um, did Nickelodeon invade my house?) that he likes to have in the crib with him, and he takes out when he gets up from a nap or in the morning.
I think it is really cute (especially how he says Ming Ming ) but I was just wondering if anyone else's DC did this or similar?

Re: A question about your toddler
Bella HAS TO have her Elmo doll in her crib with her to sleep. But that's it...only when she sleeps.
For a little while she had her 3 Backyardigan dolls and they's be in there and she'd grab all 3 before we took her out of the crib.
But now it's just Elmo.

Re: A question about your toddler
Katherine was like this and still is to a lesser degree now at 3.5. She looooves her animals. She's always had three that were her best ones; she would sleep with them (and about 10 of their friends!) and take them places with her. Now in a bed, she only sleeps with three and she really doesn't bring them out anymore.
Abby really couldn't care less about stuffed animals. Even though she sleeps with three of them, she totally doesn't need them at all.

I was actually thinking of Bella and her Backyardigan pals too
I don't think its bad, I was just curious, you know?

Jack isn't like this but apparently I was.
Every picture of me from the toddler years I am toting around about 6 stuffed animals everywhere! And look, I turned out completely normal!

Re: A question about your toddler
jonah loves his animals - hugs them and kisses them all the time.
but what he has to have with him all the time are his pacifiers. one in his mouth, one in each hand.
we are just starting to have him leave them in his crib... we do this whole ritual where we wave bye-bye to them... it's getting crazy and i'm shuddering at the thought of breaking him of the habit
so i'm kinda hoping that he transitions to animals!

Re: A question about your toddler
For some reason it drives DH crazy but...
Lucas has to have a toothbrush with him all the time. Not a kiddie brush....an adult sized brush. It's always in his mouth and he loves to add water to brush his teeth.
I have no problem with him having it and he never takes it to daycare but it drives DH crazy.
He wakes up in the morning and says " toofbrush?"

Re: A question about your toddler
DS was like this. He had to have his lamb, penguin, walrus and alpaca stuffed animals with him when he slept He had to take them all with him when he woke up including his blankie and pillow. He grew out of it and now only takes his blankie and pillow.

Re: A question about your toddler
Yes, DS has a stuffed dog which he named Rocco. If he can't find Rocco he will yell all around the house "Rocco, where are you" " Are you lost" and if he cant find Rocco he comes to me crying "I lost Rocco, I can't find him"
Rocco and Anthony are attached to the hip, LOLOL!!!
ETA: Anthony also carries around an animal (plastic figurine). Usually it's a donkey and he calls it "ciuccio"
thanks to my father

Re: A question about your toddler
DD used to carry around a stuffed bunny from Easter for months. It was getting grungy and I got a second one just in case, but she stopped carrying it around before we got to the backup.
Now, she's an equal opportunity stuffed animal lover. Every day it's a different animal.

Re: A question about your toddler
If my daughter could sleep with cell phones, she would. She has all of our old cells, play phones, etc. She begs to sleep with them but obviously we dont let her.
Only recently did she start to become attached to some stuffed animals, thing is, they arent always the same. As long as she has 2 sleeping with her, she is fine. Every night, she picks something else. It doesnt bother me at all, I think its REALLY cute. As long as her attachment isnt like my cousins STILL IS at age 33 to her rabbit, I am good. My cousin took her rabbit on her honeymoon and STILL sleeps with it. Crazy stuff!!

Jay has a small stuffed Elmo that he likes to sleep with. He takes it out of his crib when he wakes up.
Nate also has an Elmo and a Teddy bear that he has to sleep with.

Re: A question about your toddler
Um hello, puppy obsession over here
She doesn't nap with them, and they don't generally leave the house (b/c I'm afraid of losing them)...but she has about 15 puppies that she LOVES, they all have names we gave them and she referrs to them all by their names...she wants specific ones always, she'll ask for them specifically, she's not a "any puppy will do" kinda girl apparently.
She also loves her Max & Ruby mini stuffed things that she LOVES.
ETA: DD tucks one of the assorted friends under her arm, in the crook of her arm, and can do practically anything while having that puppy tucked there. It's her "thing"
