I don't have any info for you, but is there a way that your medical insurance would cover the cost??
The insurance is saying they won't cover it, but I'm not sure they are correct. You just never know when you talk to a random operator. I need to speak to a manager tomorrow and explain the situation in detail.
What about your school district? Is there any way they can pay for it? A long shot, I know...
Unfortunately, my district (Sachem) is the pitts when it comes to special needs. I can't even get them to pay for what they are legally bound to pay for ... no less a stroller ... without literally threatening to sue them. But ... thanks for the thought! I'm going to try the insurance company again tomorrow. I'm thinking there may be a way around this if I can purchase something not classified as a "stroller" ... the wording seems to be such a major issue with the insurance.

Re: A Question for Parents of Disabled Children
I think getting an evaluation from a center is the best idea. I used to work at Carman Rd. BOCES in Nassau with children who were multiply impaired. The assistive tech. team was fantastic and really found what worked while working with insurance. There are probably a ton of hoops you have to jump through, like getting everything else your son needs, but it is worth it.
