Re: A Year In Review- What are your best and worst moments of 2010?

BEST:
Birth of our twins in July
Buying our new "forever" home, and seling our first home in 1 weekend! Chat Icon
Getting back into shape after having the babies, & successfully completing 5K races when they were just 4 months old.
My uncle surviving his near-drowning... doctors gave him only 1% chance of surviving.

WORST:
my uncle near-drowning in July. he almost died on the 1-yr anniversary of my mother's death (his sister). It was one of the worst day ever for my entire family.

OK i was afraid to ask but I missed this too. What happened? Thank goodness you are ok now though from what ever it was.

I had not been feeling good for a week, thought it was a summer cold or the onset of AF. I was at the mall and started to feel weak, really hot, and confused. I was trying to self diagnosis with a friend on the phone and just knew something was terribly wrong.
DH was driving, I couldn't speak without stuttering, or lift my arms. I thought I was having a seizure (never had one before). Then all of a sudden I was fine. We went to the hospital and they did all sorts of test to see what was wrong with me. Found that my blood count was at a 4.2 (normal is about a 12). Other nutrient counts were either 0 or low. They believe my system was shutting down in the mall and that my stuttering was loss of oxygen to my brain. They were shocked I made it in the hospital on my own.
I had 5 blood transfusion that night. My body is not properly reproducing cells. I have gone in for 40 IV treatments since then. Still have no clue where my blood went, or how long it took to get that way. I am still under strict care with my Doctors and under going lots of testing.

Being able to stay home with my DS until September of 2011

Worst:

There have been so many good and bad moments but I try to remember the good. Overall I have a good feeling about this past year and I hope I feel the same about the upcoming one!

Re: A Year In Review- What are your best and worst moments of 2010?

Best- Birth of my DD and going back to work at an awesome new job afterwards- proving to myself that I really could have it all!

Worst-trying to adjust to not sleeping, and all the life changes that come with having a baby after all those years of being childless.
Also having to have surgery 5 weeks after her birth- but even that wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!

All of the above only made me realize that I am much stronger than I ever thought I was

I have to say 2010 didn't have too many bad things in it for us! THANK GOD!

Re: A Year In Review- What are your best and worst moments of 2010?

Best: Finding out we are going to have a baby.

Seeing my brother finally fall in love.

DH getting his job back.

Worst: Unfortunately this one is long:

Finding out my Aunt's cancer has spread and there is absolutely nothing that can be done now. We wait, we pray and we hope that she does not suffer. She is too young for this. Also knowing that I may never see her again because she lives down south and I am not allowed to travel.

My 20 year old nephew died.

My dad having major back surgery and me being 1100 miles away and not being able to go down to see him.

Finding out I have GD again with this pregnancy and having to limit things I wanted to do (fly down to Florida to see my family)

Finding out my health insurance is being cut by my job and I will have to pay for it, on top of them cutting my hours and skipping bonuses this year.
