According to the person who uploaded the video to YouTube, the woman had been talking too loudly on the train when the conductor "politely asked her to keep it down and stop using profanity or to take it to the vestibule."

According to Gawker.com, the guy that taped this said that after the incident, the MTA employee got on the loudspeaker and reminded people to speak softly and not use profanity on the train, "especially those people who went to Harvard or Yale or are from Westport."
