I am happy the train woker took the hight road....it would take a lot for me to not lay her out....who does she think she is?!?!?!?!

I don't know if the high road is kicking the woman off the train. But after her comment about "that's why you people work in the train", I'm surprised the MetroNorth staff didn't throw her off the train while it was moving.

. I missed this, but I can tell you it took a year for dh to qualify as an engineer and I think 6 months to be a conductor. It's not an easy job, i hate that this woman thinks her job pushing make up is harder then theirs. Chat Icon

i hope this girl learns a serious lesson about respecting others regardless of their education, treating people with respect and humility. her name is certainly well known now!

Someone created a facebook page bashing the Heck out of her!

Yep, just found it..here is the link:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Hermon-Raju/164359446965263

and I guess she wasn't good at using her "leadership" skills either:

Wow, now I've seen it all.... a facebook page dedicated to bullying someone. Whether she was right or wrong on the train..THIS is flat out wrong.

ITA. I think she shouldn't have behaved the way she did, but I don't think she deserves the harassing fb page. Thanks for posting it, I just reported it.Chat Icon

This story is not only in City-data forums, but on Yahoo and even LONDON papers.

Her behavior is inexcusable, IMHO. Arrogant, self entitled, and not a product of a "well educated person". There are 14,000 comments after the Yahoo article so clearly her attitude stuck a chord wi everyone who saw the clip and her derogatory comments at the end.

Clearly she is being made an example of though. I do not think that exposure on this level is justified. I have done some pretty stupid things. If they were plastered all over the internet I would probably be mortified to the point of a serious breakdown. I just wonder how so many people feel so justified in berating her in this way. To me that is much more reprehensible than what she did. To create a facebook page bashing someone? really.....

eh, I dont know. I kinda get where you are coming from BUT did she ever ONCE think about how she humiliated and degraded the staff working on the train. She mad a huge, loud spectacle on the train and pretty much told the lady in a nutshell she's a loser for working on a train and continued her nonsense upon being asked to leave. She was in a PUBLIC forum acting like this. You have to be aware of your surroundings before acting like an azz.

I don't feel bad for this girl one bit. I have done embarrassing things that I regret but nothing of this nature. I don't use my cell phone on the train because it's rude. If I did for some reason use my cell phone on the train and someone complained I would stop talking on it, not argue with the MTA staff. They're doing their job and she's telling them because she has an education she has the right to disturb everyone else on the train? She's 27 not 16. She acted like a jerk towards the staff for doing their job and then defended herself by saying she's more educated than them. Nope, don't feel bad for someone that thinks like that.

I feel bad for her, but bad behavior is paid back. She brought it on herlsef.

I'm on the fence... I do feel like people deserve second chances (sometimes a third..) and that we all have "bad days' but something about this broad leads me to believe that this wasn't an "isolated" incident... You can usually tell when someone is frazzled and out of their element..

I am thinking someone called her a stupid b!tch before the video was started and that's why she's going on and on and on about her education. She was completely and totally out of line obnoxious but I don't think it's so bad that she needs to be vilified worldwide for this incident.

yeah, this "public shaming" that has ensued is a little scary... What she did wasn't THAT bad... She's a snob... big whoop. Bigger problems and worse people out there.

While I think she was really rude and out of line, I don't think her public information should have been released.I also think it is awful that there is a facebook page bashing her. To me, that is just sinking the lowest common denominator.

I agree, and now this thread is another place that people who google her name can probably see. Not cool. Especially because we don't know if or how she was provoked before the camera turned on. Even assuming that she was obnoxious unprovoked, it's scary and kind of low that her name was put out there by the person with the facebook site.

It is possible to figure out people's full identities on here--more so than people may think. I can't imagine that I would ever call someone out for their views or behavior on here--noomatter how bad--by using their whole identity/full name when they clearly would not want it publicized or tied to what they write or do--no matter how much I disliked the way they were acting

I agree with these sentiments.

Yes, it's the information age. Yes, public conversations can end up recorded and publicized. Yes, people's bad behavior can end up exposed and they should watch their behinds. However, that doesn't mean the actions of whomever did the exposing were justified, necessary, or appropriate.

This reminds me of what I tell my 14 month old son when he tries to open the bedroom door (we have the lever type doorknobs and yes, he can open doors): "Just because you CAN do it, doesn't mean you should."Chat Icon

The facebook page and all of the other stuff is just bullying, plain and simple. We teach our kids not to be bullies, but yet there are grown adults condoning this behavior. It's disgusting.

I don't think she was suggesting anyone here did create that FB page.

I think the "we teach our kids..." comment was just directed at a "general" we and not even specific to LIF.

I think it's pretty sad that ANYONE would take enough time to create a FB page to bash a total stranger.

I can't help but think, GET A LIFE.

Not defending the behavior of speaking loudly on a cell phone and using profanity, but we all as human beings have had moments in our lives where we are not proud of how we have behaved, and in hindsight, regretted it...The shame of it now is that anyone who is unfortunately witness to someone at their worst has the ability to video it, broadcast it to the world and shame the person mercilessly....

Of course it is case sensitive and things like a crime being committed, or anything unlawful a video could be useful, but in this case I just do not see the value in exploiting this episode..

Just my opinion...

Maybe now that the video has gone viral it will teach her (and others) not to treat people that way & behave better in public.

Not such a bad thing, is it?

Certainly not a bad thing..I just feel a bit sympathetic because even though she certainly does come off as very smug and superior, the video does not show the events that lead up to the outburst, so for me I feel that I cant make a determination of whether she is defending herself or just being loud, rude and abrasive.....

skip123 I agree with everything you posted...
The first thought that came to my mind after reading this thread : wow, some people can be so very mean and cruel ( some comments, the personal info, the FB page....) I don't know, I always try to remember that there are 2 sides to every story, so who knows what really happened .
