yeah the pregnancy board is a lot tamer
TTC and pregnancy are the kind, nice boards.
The parenting boards gets fiesty..I'm looking forward to it
No way-those boards get their share of drama. I think the only boards that are drama proof are food and maybe the book one.
Infertility is pretty drama free if you ask me!

I completely agree. I got so annoyed with a friend of mine who is a teacher for NYC DOE yesterday that I commented on her facebook yesterday: "my unemployeed, job seeking DH will happily teach your students today." That comment got DH & I a personal apology phone call yesterday.

Pregnancy and TTC don't get too much drama. ONCE IN A WHILE... but it's really not that often. I've only seen drama on TTC 1 time and that was just some idiot girl on there who had the audacity to literally insult the girls TTC and flaunt her baby to them. Other than that those girls are super supportive of one another.
Pregnancy... it's pretty rare... it does happen but really not often. the only drama thread that really even comes to mind on there was the crib thing; but I'm sure over time there has been a few others.
I've NEVER seen drama on the MC board. Ever.
Infertility I saw one MINOR MINOR thing on there ONCE... other than that it's pretty drama free.
FHF, Relationship, and Celebrity boards I think rank the most drama.

Re: All you people complaining about schools being open today -
I'm sorry but I don't think complaining about having to go to work yesterday when a lot of places were a total mess and people were being told to stay off the roads unless it was an emergency -- is an invitation for people to get defensive about 'Well we'd gladly go to work for you, etc.'
It's not like the people are complaining about having to go to work every single day...
Every teacher I know in the city was annoyed because half their students were probably not coming in anyways.
It's not anyone's fault that other people don't have a job -- I don't think it's right to make people feel guilty that they're less than thrilled for having to put themselves in danger to be on the roads so they can go to work and have a lot of the students not show up anyways.

Re: All you people complaining about schools being open today -
It does suck to have a double standard but think about it. NYC has a great public transportation system (some don't think but it really is) so why do you need to drive in? Okay let's say you have to so take the day off you would just charge it to your time.
If I stayed home I would of had to do that, our college cancels classes all the time but staff is still required to show up. I mean the entire campus has no student population but you as the worker have to show up unless you charge a day of your time. I worked yesterday and really it wasn't a big deal to get to work at all.

Is it bad that I am now thinking about what could create food or book drama?

I wasn't referring to anything YOU said.
That girl up above said she told a friend via facebook that her unemployed husband would gladly go to work in her place and said that
"... that got us a personal apology call from the girl."
Like complaining that driving in when people are morons on the road and there's TONS of accidents everytime there's snow because people are f-ing idiots and don't know how to drive... somehow makes her guilty that THAT girl's husband doesn't have a job -- I'm sorry that ANYONE is unemployed right now it SUCKS.
... but I don't think anyone should've felt 'guilty' and had to call to 'apologize'.

I'm not sure why people are upset about NYC schools staying open yesterday. I thought the streets were fine yesterday in the city.

I live in Brooklyn & work in Manhattan & made the 1 hour commute on the train with no problem yesterday. As did my boss who live in Rockville Centre, after standing on the LIRR train platform for an hour waiting for a train to show up. My friend lives within walking distance to the school she works at. Apparently I forgot to mention that in my post as well. Thats what I took offense to. What annoyed me more was that when Brooklyn had 29" of snow during the December blizzard; since a state of emergency was not declared I was expected into work. Since my train was suspended I couldn't get into Manhattan the first day but the second day I had to commute in. & you know who had no complaints, all my teacher friends, who where already off on break. Thats what my problem was yesterday. Brooklyn had 5" maybe 6" of snow. The streets where perfectly clear yet, everyone complained.
