Almost 38 weeks, vbac related!
Hi Guys...I haven't been on here in a long time, so I hope everyone is doing great. I am almost 38 weeks (this Tuesday) and right now baby girl is head down, starting to engage; cervix "soft" as per doctor but no real action to speak of. With my daughter, I had an emergency C. Really hoping to avoid that this time. The section is scheduled Aug 30 if I don't go on my own. Tips to make it happen? Trying red raspberry tea, sex...all the usuals. I'm getting a massage Sunday and hoping that might make something happen. Reason for c was failure to progress, heart decel; I was induced and things just never got going great. Hoping for the vbac badly!

Thank you so much. :) Good luck to you! I'm due Sep 1, but my doctor is going away. She doesn't want me to wait the entire week after for her to return, and I said no to doing it before, because I want to buy myself time, even if it is only a few days....she leaves Aug 28 and I just didn't want to do it prior to the date she gave me.

Almost 38 weeks, vbac related!
I had a vbac so I was determined to go into labor on my own and avoid another c/s. Went to a wedding on Saturday night and DANCED like crazy (lots of jumping and moving around). Walked as much as I could the next couple of days. Went into labor on Wednesday. Good luck!!!!

I had a VBAC at 41W2D, and I am so glad I had a supportive doc who let me go that long (with proper monitoring of course). No advice because all I did was walk a lot but GOOD LUCK!!! I hope you get your VBAC!

Re: Almost 38 weeks, vbac related!
DS was born at almost 42 weeks - I did everything to avoid induction and he did come on his own. I did - accunpuncture which I think helped most - walking - spicy foods, etc. (usual)
I do think they just come when they are ready, but I think the acupuncture may have helped my body a bit!
Good luck!

Re: Almost 38 weeks, vbac related!
No tips for you but good luck! I had a VBAC at 40 weeks, 3 days. I was scheduled for a c-section for 40w5d. I had almost no progress and no changes until at least 40 weeks 0days. I had been fingertip dilated for 2 weeks. No real chages in my cervix. I was losing hope fast. And then it happened! I woke up just before 7am feeling contractions and DS2 was born at 2:45 pm. He would have been born earlier except a nurse ignored my request to be checked again. WIth my 1st I was induced at 36w5d due to pre-eclampsia and didn't progress past 5-6cm.
I will day that the day before I went into labor I went on a log walk/hike with my DS1 and DH. It was at Norman Levy preserve in Merrick. We walked for at least an hour. Uphill ad downhill. I'm convinced that did it.

Thank you for sharing. I am not dilated but 50 percent effaced, which I was not last week. Walked for one hour tonight with daughter and dog....
