Am I going to be able to get summer clothing for a newborn come June?
I stopped in BRU today and noticed that all the summer clothing is out now. I'm due in June, and, in traditional Jewish custom, not having a shower. I am going to pick out a layette at Denny's for either gender (we're team  ), and my mom and/or MIL will pick up the "right" one after I have the baby. I'm worried that by the time I have the baby and need to shop for clothing, they will have winter stuff! Do the children's stores all run way ahead like the adult clothing stores do?

I had the exact same issue. DS was born 8/1. I kept a bag of clothing in my car. I did not bring it into the house until I went into labor and DH washed the clothing while I was in the hospital. I would get a few short sleeve undershirts and some light weight pjs. To be honest, my home has air conditioning and I kept my kids in long sleeve clothing so they would not catch a chill with the air conditioning. I just made sure to get light weight long sleeve footed pjs. Also, if they have outfits with zippers get those. They will make your life a lot easier.
These were great:

ETA: I think you will be ok for an early June baby - you will still have a little time to get something for your DC. I think by July it will become difficult to find summer clothing.

You won't have a problem, we didn't know the gender and were able to get clothes once she was born. Don't stress!

You may actually get some great deals as they move out summer stuff and bring in more fall items. Also you can always shop online they usually have stuff from every season and once again great clearance especially on sites like carters/crazy 8/ children's place.

I wouldnt worry. They sell short sleeve onesies and light stretchies all year long. Babies need to be dressed 1 layer warmer than what's comfortable for adults.

dont sweat it. my DD was born in june and was very small, so though we had clothes for her, we still needed to go out and buy more newborn sizes. we are able to find summer clothes, and she was born june 27

You should be ok but you will need to go shopping asap. Fall stuff usually is out right around July 4th.

what everyone else said and also since you pick out your layout ahead of time they will have summer stuff so you can just pick out a bunch to put in the box. You can always call dennys after you do the layette to change stuff around, add or take out.

You can probably get some great deals!! Newborns spend so much time in those one piece sleep and plays anyway and they are out every season.
My mom purchased a bag of clothes for boy and a bag for girl and returned the other after the baby was born.

no problems. In fact newborns are in sleepers & onsies most of the time anyway and those are always available.

Same here. You will be totally fine.
I would go to Denny's and do your layette asap - they have tons of really cute summer stuff now and when they sell out often they don't restock.
