no. i tipped a verizon guy $20 because he came to fix the mess the 1st and 2nd guy made.. turns out the guy i tipped also suckked! and after the 4th verizon guy spent 7 HOURS in my place, i wasnt tipping him. its their job to do this.

I always tip people like that but that's only because I feel guilty not tipping. I feel like they expect it. But it annoys me every time.

This is my philosophy on tipping. If I can afford it I tip.
When goig to a restaurant I always tip a little bit more. If my breakfast was $12 I will leave $20. I know what it was like to work on your feet all day. I know what it was like to work for ONLY tips and commission. The extra 2 or 3 dollars to me won't make. Huge impact in my life. However it makes a big difference to them.
Same with the cable guy. I won't give $20, but I certainly would give him $10.
But that's me. Do you HAVE to no? Are you obligated? No.

I am so tired of handing out $10 and $20 to everyone who comes to my house. I run through serious money sometimes, just to tip people who I also have to pay, and pay handsomely in many cases. I think if someone goes above and beyond, then a tip is in order, otherwise, it's their job.

Why would anyone tip the cable guy??? They don't work for tips. I only tip people why make their primary income on tips. It's out of control.

Exactly. These guys are salaried. They don't work off tips like waiters, bartenders, hairstylists, etc.
