I would have no problem living in that house. I wouldn't buy it bc much nicer houses in better locations are listed for close to that selling price.
Do you think it being the Amityville horror house makes the value go up or down? Because for as many people that won't buy it bc of the murders a load of people would want it for that reason.

I think it's beautiful, but I don't think I could live there. That movie gave me nightmares for like a year straight in my childhood! 
But also, I wouldn't want to live in somewhat of a tourist attraction.

I truly do not believe in haunted homes. what happened was horrific but the man was insane.

The house is gorgeous...hands down. But the fact that a whole family was brutally murdered there...there's no way I could live there. I just think I'd always feel this sense of sadness - knowing those poor people being shot by a family member.

HAHA, I live only a few houses down from it. There are always people parked in front of it, walking on their front lawn, taking pictures on their lawn... its SO rude, people live there, no wonder they are selling it. Since the word is out that its on the market (only as of yesterday) every time I have left my house to go out I can barely get down the block because all these people are now in front of it. It's a shame because it is such a beautiful home

ITA. Even if I didn't have an issue with the murders, I wouldn't want to live in a place that people drive by and stare at and who knows what else all the time.

It's a beautiful house! Only reason I wouldn't want to live there is because of all the people driving past to stop and stare at the house because of it's history. Otherwise, it looks like a nice place to live
I agree - it seems like such a nuisance to live there - I've even seen videos on youtube that people put up going up to it and peeking in the windows and crap. Very annoying...

I also knew a previous owner and it is not haunted, but I still wouldn't be able to live somewhere where other people were murdered. The same article also talked about Joel Rifkin's house in East Meadow, where he brought his victims to kill them -- it is also on the market-- any takers for that one?
