Another amnio question
OK, My dr. does them in the office, but as much as I like him as my OB/GYN, I feel that this should be done by a specialist (perinatologist)
I am wondering how everyone feels about this and WHERE everyone has gone for theirs
Thanks!!

Re: Another amnio question
My doc has a perinatologist come in to the office every Wednesday to run Ultrascreens, Amnios and Level 2s. The perinatologist only ran the sonogram machine to tell the OB where to go and my OB gave me the needle. Worked out fine.
My sister's amnio was not done by a perinatologist and she was fine. So was my Mom's and hers was done 38 years ago with me. I think most OB's know what they are doing.

Re: Another amnio question
If it was me, I would prefer and demand a specialist...I believe that OB's, while wonderful doctors are trained best to deal with "complication free" pregnancies and deliveries
Good luck

Good luck yes i agree while my OB has done a hundred or so, I'd feel better going to a specialist that has done thousands where that is ALL they do everyday
if I cant find one in queens, I'll have to go where my sister went
