I would hope everyone were wearing masks at all time. I would kindly ask them the first time or two, and if the problem weren’t addressed, I would report them to the state department of health.

I've been reporting since April, multiple times.....no response as of yet

So you mean even when seated at their desks?

I'm curious to know what the DOH policy actually is on mask wearing at desks. My company is very conservative- not even letting any office open yet even in the lowest infection rate areas like here on Long Island- and I have to believe they are following the rules, regulations and procedures set forth by the state and the DOH for opening the offices because they are a huge publicly traded company with a very large legal and HR team, and they have said that at headquarters- which opened in June and any other offices that will open that mask wearing is not mandated at desks.
So not sure what the DOH would do in the case where the rule is wear your mask except when seated at your desk- just like in a bar or restaurant.

Businesses can make their own stricter policies, but the DOH says you aren't required to wear a mask at your desk as long as you maintain 6 feet of distance. We reconfigured our work spaces so everyone was far enough apart that they did not have to wear masks while at their work stations or in their offices. That being said, I'm sure some companies CAN require it 24/7 if they wanted to or if they didn't have the space to distance. Also I believe it is still the case that you can only have up to 50% of office employees in the building at any one time. I do not wear a mask in my office but have to put it on if I walk down the hall or to the bathroom or kitchen just in case I run into another person. If we have a meeting in the same room, we typically try to space farther apart than 6 feet and leave the doors open so that we can pull it down, as it is very hard to talk for an hour while wearing a mask without getting dry or coughing (in which case everyone assumes you have the plague).

My company has had 100% of workforce in, from what they tell us since we are essential, the 50% rule doesn't apply.

Well it's company policy to wear a mask seated at your desk. Just my colleagues don't feel the need to follow company policy. And while Management threatens repercussions, they don't follow through.

Yes I get that and they are breaking company policy but I was asking about what the DOH would be able to do when called because it seems mask wearing while seated is not a DOH mandate but a company one
That's why I asked about what the actual DOH policy is.

Report after report has said that indoor restaurants are a leading place of spread. Airplanes have been revealed to be pretty bad too. As long as people are even relatively close and indoors, people seem to get sick without masks if there are covid germs.

If wearing a mask at one's desk isn't DOH policy, that would seem to defy all of the information that is coming out. I don't know whether it is, but I'd be curious.

If our regulations defy science and reality, we are never going to get back to normal.

Curious about the reports on indoor dining. Long Island has had indoor dining since mid June. And our infection rate has been very low and holding steady for months. So where are all the spikes from the indoor dining?

I don't know, that is what I have been trying to find out since April to no avail. What I do know is that our workstations are not 6 feet away from each other, in some cases not 2 feet away. The Coronavirus website isn't clear. My workplace has other unsafe practices taking place which I won't get into. It doesn't help that upper management is still calling this the flu. Chat Icon But I have found it impossible to get answers from DOH/State.
