Another Double Stroller Question - City Mini?

I need a double that is
1. Doesn't weigh 500 lbs
2. Doesn't cose $800
3. Is comfortable for my kids
4. Accepts my Graco carseat w/ a real 'snap in' adapter

After all of my reasearch it seems like the City Mini is the best option. I already have a Bug Cameleon that I adore and a Peg Perego Vela which I will gladly go back to once Sean is out of the stroller - but he'll be 2 when the new baby comes in May and loves the stroller so I need the double - Especially to walk off my fat before my sister's Wedding !!!! My concern w/ the City Mini though is the depth of the seat and comfort for the kids - and the fact that they can't sit upright - I am reading this has been improved - but does anyone have any experience?

I originally had the City Mini before the Peg and sold it b/c *I* loved it, but Sean was SO uncomfrotable ...........Chat Icon

Not sure about the City Mini but I have a City Classic double that I love. I never purchased a snap attachment for the infant seat but I imagine it is the same as for the City Mini. I bought mine on Amazon and got a fantastic deal! Chat Icon I just did a search for you and found a black one on sale at stroller.com for about $200 less than on Amazon and free shipping! Check it out here! HTH! Good luck!

Re: Another Double Stroller Question - City Mini?

a friend has the city mini double and I don't like how her carseat sits kind of "out" of the seat. I have a bumbleride indie twin and love it. it may be a "heavier" stroller, but that only matters for the few seconds it takes to lift it into the trunk, for me at least. I haven't found it to be a big deal and I'm small. My carseat doesn't snap in and I thought that would be a big deal. it isn't...my seat is so snug and straps in. i've never been concerned.

Re: Another Double Stroller Question - City Mini?

I looked at the City Mini & honestly DS did not fit in their nicely. He was 10.5 months when we purchased it & he was snug. There was no way I would get more then 6 months out of it without him trying to get out because of being uncomfortable.

I have the Bumbleride Indiew twin & honestly did not want to spend the $$ but it was the BEST investment we made. To me, it is not heavy at all. I have to lift it in & out of my Tahoe & have no issues at all. My carseat (Snugride) fits securely in the one side & even with the infant seat in the opposite side, my other DS fits comfortably & is not snug at all. I posted on a thread last night that I even had my stroller with my 15.5 month old & my 5 yr nephew with no issues

Re: Another Double Stroller Question - City Mini?

I have the city mini double and there are pros/cons. I love that it's lightweight, pushes very smoothly, move easily in/out doorways and stores, folds nice & small and have a nice look to it. That's about it! My sons are 2 and 9 months and they do sit so uncomfortably. In addition to that their arms keep sliding out of the harness part...I can't get it right. It's either too loose or too tight. I have the 2010 version which is suppose to have a bigger basket area. I'm sure the storage is decide but it's a struggle to get your bags underneath.

ETA: I did not have the car seat adaptor. It seemed unsturdy and it was further away from the carriage then I felt comfortable. It does not snap/fit into the seat like other carriages. I saved my money and bought a body support for my newborn and that worked just perfect from day 1. Much cheaper too!

I am getting the Kolcraft tandem options II because I could not afford the City mini and also needed one that could take a car seat. Its is fairly cheap and does most of what the city mini does. It got great reviews.

I don't have a double, but I do have the new 2011 City Mini (replaced the 2010 city mini so I have experience with both). I will say that DS sits much more comfortably in the new 2011 city mini. Not sure if it's because it now has the stiffer back or because it DOES sit upright, or maybe the combination of both.

I would definitely look into the 2011 double.

I do have the car seat adaptor for my Chicco car seat so it's different than the one you would need. I LOVE that I have the option to just use the stroller or use the carseat on the stroller if DS is sleeping etc. BUT when I fold the stroller, the car seat adaptor just sticks out so it takes up more room in the trunk. You can take it off, but sometimes I'm in too much of a rush to worry about taking off, putting on, etc. Especially now that it's cold outside.

Re: Another Double Stroller Question - City Mini?

i love everything about my City Mini double.
i had the boys in there since they were 6 months old. they were really comfortable in them. and they were pretty far up and not slouchy at all.

its very light and its like pushing air.. its so easy to manuver.
