another question for joggers/runners
Do you feel that jogging shorter but faster is better or the same as jogging longer but slower? I was just thinking about this and figured I would ask the pros

Re: another question for joggers/runners
running different distances and different paces is important in general. That way your body doesn't go into efficiency mode. speed, hill and distance runs all help in different aspects of training.
even the best runners have easy days.

What she said!
I found when I added hills and started doing some speed workouts into my routine, my overall running improved a lot.

Re: another question for joggers/runners
If I'm having a good day, I do sprints/hills. If I am a little fatigued, or I sprinted the day before, I do steady jogs.

I agree! I have to say though when I was just starting out I would run slow and worked on endurance. I feel like this really helped my body get used to breathing as well as to getting used to it mentally.

Re: another question for joggers/runners
Well I started jogging the end of June the most I have done is 4.5 miles. However lately I've been just doing between 3-4 every other day, sometimes I feel I can do more but then I get bored and just want to go home So if I broke it up and say did 2 days of jogging regular doing 4miles then the other 2 days going faster but only do 2-3miles would that be good or should I just continue doing what I'm doing? I'm not training for any races just to fix my body a little and get a brake from the house.

Re: another question for joggers/runners
You may not be training for a race but it may help break up the monotony if you follow a training schedule that works for you, kwim? I follow the 10K training on Hal Higdon's Website and will probably do so even after I'm done with races for this year (November). I'm a goal oriented person and it just helps me to have a schedule to follow.
