any called for jury duty
during their pregnancy?
I just got a notice yesterday. I am almost 22 weeks. A part says, try and get out of it, while the other part is like just go and get it over with now before the baby is born.
I am filling out the questionnaire. It asks if there are any physical or mental infirmities which would impact my ability to serve? I want to say no. Would pregnancy be considered this?
I know stupid question.
would love to know your experiences with jury duty while pregnant? Did they let you off or still made you serve?

I got called last summer while pregnant with dd.. I went and sat there for the day, didnt get picked. thank goodness.. I figure just get it over with and be free of it for the next 3 years.

I was called but lucky me I was dismissed!
I was on the Nassau County Telephone Juror standby (had to call every night this week to find out if I needed to go in) but lucky me I was dismissed!

hi - I got called for Jury Duty at about 20 weeks pregnant. I told the attorneys that I am 20 weeks pregnant, but healthy, and I need frequent bathroom breaks. Would you believe they actually selected me to serve on a jury!!! It was a 5 day trial but on the second day the case was put on hold. It was an interesteing experience and nice to get out of work for a couple of days so it wasn't that bad. And now I am free from jury duty for a few years. Good luck!!!

Same thing happened to me, I was actaully kinda bummed, I would like to serve. I know. I 'm wierd, I've just never done it before and think it will be an interesting experience.

if you crochet.. perfect time to work on baby blanket!! I had brought baby name book with me and some tests i had to do for my job.. would have loved to make a blanket.

I got called the week after I found out. So I was only 4 weeks or so, and I got picked for a jury.
I would go anytime during pregnancy except after 35 weeks.

I got called this summer but we were on vacation during the dates so I postponed it until Oct. 20. I have to call in and actually would love to be out of work for a few days. This place is way more stressful than Jury duty. Plus the court house is down the block from my house so the commute is about the same each day. Of course, I will be the one who ends up dismissed!

I haven't gotten called for JD this pregnancy (my DH did though)- but if I were, I think I would do it now, because otherwise you need to give them a date from 2-6 months from original call date to serve....This way, you won't need to worry about either being much further along/ or cutting into your maternity leave, or getting someone to care for your newborn...My DH postponed (because he's in the middle of a big job) and postponed for exactly 6 months from now .....JMO

I got called at 14 weeks. I was there for 2 days and got called up to the jury. I made sure they new I was Pregnant. They didn't pick me!!
