Any moms start exclusively pumping....
and then breastfeed? How did you control your supply? I feel like I have so much more milk than the baby needs. My son is almost 4 weeks old and if I pump to empty I get over 6 ounces. The most he will drink out of a bottle at one time is just under 4 ounces. So what do I do about always feeling so full and then leaking? HELP!!!

Re: Any moms start exclusively pumping....
I pumped exclusively in the beginning---DS was in the NICU 4 weeks and I started to try to BF him probably when he was 3 weeks old for 1-2 feedings/day. When he came home we slowly increased the feedings until he was EBF and I stopped pumping. I found that my supply regulated itself. Are you planning on continuing to pump and give bottles or switch to nursing only? You could try pumping a bit less each session, but slowly over a few days and I would think your supply should regulate down.

Re: Any moms start exclusively pumping....
I did for the first 3 wks bc DS was tongue-tied and couldnt latch on (after that i continued to pump for about 2 more months, but not exclusively). I think your body will start regulating itself and start making more milk the times you usually pump. I had a set pumping schedule and it definiltey helped.
As for making more milk than your DC will drink in one feeding, are you freezing the extra milk?
