Any natural remedies for heartburn?
It is killing me! I'm on so many meds for other issues and popping tums like crazy, I was wondering if there was any natural remedies that worked for anyone. I had heard almonds but I'm allergic. Something with vinegar maybe Milk actually makes it worse. Help, I'm desperate. Thanks!

Vinegar is acidic so I wouldn't try that. But, you might want to try bananas, yogurt or high fiber foods. Also I recently read an article about how chewing gum helps.

2 Tbsp. of apple cider vinegar to 1/2 cup of water, but i also have a glass of fat free milk and tums before bed. I don't wake up in the middle of the night anymore. Try it, see if it works for you!

oh my god i understand. But yes Milk makes it worse & to be honest for me so does water sometimes. Its horrible. I just try to take as little Tums as possible. I have only taken one. If its not so bad i deal with it. U have to get something that soothes it. Maybe chocolate or peanut butter (if your not allergic)

Thanks ladies. Dairy is making it worse this time, it worked a bit for S #1 but not this time. Maybe I'll try the apple cider vinegar trick. Hopefully it can't hurt!

I get terrible heartburn, so far the only thing I do for it is GUM! Chewing sugarless gum stimulates the production of saliva. And because saliva is alkaline, it can help neutralize the acid.
It works for me! Definitely worth a try. I haven't taken any tums just because I don't like to take any kind of 'medications' while pregnant unless absolutely necessary.

but i have also heard that lemon water can help. seems odd.. but it worked for someone i know.

Forgot to mention, I'm also allergic to apples SO wish I wasn't! I am afraid to try the apple cider vinegar because of this.

I haven't had a reaction in a long time, but I had a severe one to an apple years ago. Have an epi pen. Wonder if it's apple cider vinegar only or if other vinegars would work. So bad today again!

Take anything with ginger, and lots of it. I used ginger gum, ginger tea, & ginger candies. All helped a lot.

I just started getting heartburn yesterday. I'm 29 weeks. It's terrible. I have been taking Tums and that helps, but I would rather not. I drink milk every night, not sure if that really helps though. I guess I'm lucky I haven't had it the whole pregnancy.
