Any stay at home moms in Great Neck here?
We are currently renting in Scarsdale, but looking to buy a house and I wanted to learn more about Great Neck. I'd be at home with my two girls. Is there anyone around living there? I'd love some insight!

I don't live there now but I lived there for 5 years (before I had kids)...
it's a great town, depending on where you live there is so much in walking distance...

meeeeeeeeeeee - I live in queens now, about 5 miles away, but all the activities I do with DD are pretty much in great neck including the school that she goes to now.
In addition, we are looking to move there in the next 3-5 years. It's a great town with a nice community feel and a terrific school district. An amazing place to be with kids!

My Dh grew up in New Hyde Park but went to Great Neck South schools.
He got an excellent education. That was a long time ago but I believe it's still an excellent school district.

I live one town over in Queens. Not stay at home, though I am home on Wednesdays with DS and all of the kids' stuff is basically in Great Neck (Gymboree, Music Together, etc). I love the town (Middle Neck Rd), it's a great area to walk around. There are a TON of parks - more parks than I've ever seen in such a small space. The one on Grace Ave is always packed with kids, though mainly with nannies (or moms with nannies).
Let me know if you have specific questions.

The sprinkler park? We meet friends there often in the summer and yes there are nannies but there are tons of mommies too!
Eileen, I will look for you there this summer

Does anyone know a bit about the different neighborhoods - Lake Success, University Gardens, Russell Gardens, etc. I'm so confused!
