any suggestions - sleep related
my daughter is 5 weeks old. She is fine during the day sleeping but at night when we are upstairs trying to go to sleep i BF her ( during the day she usually falls asleep after feeding) and she won't go to sleep. I can't put her flat on her back she just crys - i also have to hold her until she falls asleep and then i tried putting her in her carseat and that is the only way that she will sleep - I feel bad about the carseat but that is the ONLY way she will sleep... any suggestions?

Same here - my 3 week old is doing the same thing.
During the night I just bf, hold him until he goes to sleep at least an hour or so because I can't put him down - it wakes him up, wait a 1/2 hour then just do it again.
I'm looking on the bright side that this time period is special and they grow up fast. I'm just trying to enjoy every minute.
(I have found that after a feeding - I plop him in the Boppy and he goes to sleep better than if I hold him)

Re: any suggestions - sleep related
my 6 week old DD will NOT sleep flat on her back anymore either...she did for maybe the first 2 weeks, but then stopped she wont even do it for naps- she wakes up the second i put her down, even if she is in a deep sleep- the swing has been our savior! that is usually where she has been sleeping at night, or in between us in the bed...

Re: any suggestions - sleep related
My dd slept in her bouncy seat/car seat for 4 months. We did what we had to do to get sleep. She eventually transitioned into the crib.

are you sure she doesn't have acid reflux? my son used to wail every time we put him on his back and it turns out he has acid reflux. There are other symptoms... so you might want to see if she fits into that. I know a few people who put their child in the car seat to sleep because of acid reflux, so i thought i'd ask.
