Any Team Green Mommies accidentally think they saw the gender during a sono?
I had a sono last week (30 weeks 2 days) and I was clear with the tech that we are team  before we even started. The screen was out of view for the first part and then she turned it towards me to show me the baby's position. She move the wand around and for a split second there was what looked like a totally clear shot between the legs. She gasped and moved the wand somewhere else. Neither of us said anything or spoke about it. I feel kind of cheated that I think I know what this baby is now. I cannot believe I have made it this far to have such a careless mistake ruin the surprise I was looking forward to. I'm thrilled that everything looked great with the baby, just bummed that my big moment may have been ruined

With my 2nd, i saw the parts on the screen. This was our 2nd team baby. I kept my mouth shut and said nothing to my husband. Why ruin it for him, you know?
I'd be pissed off at that sono tech, that's for sure and i'd probably complain.
Totally s*cks! Sorry!

Not me personally, but my SIL was team green, and 100% convinced the surprise was ruined when she accidentally saw something on the sono, she ended up being wrong, but it just goes to prove you really can't tell from a quick glance. And really it's a 50/50 chance, so even if you're right, it could still be coincidence, I wouldn't take it as a certainty - you still don't really know for sure.
Babies move so much that even if the tech wasn't meaning to show something, the baby can change position so quickly - I know mine always does, as did my 1st. Probably best not to look at all. Sorry you are upset though

Honestly, I was watching the whole time during my 16 week scan and I saw nothing so I was convinced we were having two girls. We had the tech write it down for a little gender reveal and I was SHOCKED that we are having a  and a  . So I feel like you really never know unless you are in that business.

A friend of mine thought it was ruined for her. She read into some coding on the sono print out. She was "100% positive it was a girl" because of the coding, and she ended up having a girl. Turns out a year later she brought up the story with our friend who is a sono tech and the sono tech told her that code was regarding the mom NOT the baby. I think it was the measurement of an ovary or something! Anyway, just goes to show that if you are not an expert you can't be 100% certain either way.

my friend was convinced she saw boy parts on her sono.. she had a girl.. it could have been a leg or the cord.. you never know

I thought I was having a girl bc I didn't see any "parts" at any of my scans. The day before I gave birth the sono tech said let's see how SHE is doing. I was so annoyed and ended up telling Dh (he wasn't at the appt). Well the next day when they said its a boy we were both shocked! I think you really need to be trained to know what you are looking for

This happened to me ... I had an emergency sono at 18 weeks due to some bleeding ... we told the NP that we did not want to know the sex so to be careful ... she said she would try to be but that the baby had it's legs wide open. Well she asked me to look at the baby to reasure me that all was well and it was moving as it should be etc etc ... then I saw the legs open and I was pretty sure I saw girl parts. She turned the monitor right away and I was pretty upset that I now "knew". Well right before our anatomy scan I asked my husband if he wanted to just find out bc I thought I saw girl parts. He then said to me really??? bc I was pretty sure I saw boy parts that day. I am 26 weeks along now and still don't know. Bottom line is that you may think you know what you're looking at but you really don't. I got over thinking that I "knew" after a few days. You could be totally wrong and might be in store for a nice surprise in a few weeks! Good Luck!

I am not team green but during the anatomy scan before they told us what we were having I could have sworn I saw girl parts. Well I was clearly looking at an arm pit or something because we are having a boy.

Thank you everyone!
I know that I could be totally wrong about what I think I saw. This is my 3rd team baby so I was excited to have that moment again and felt a little robbed. I know it's possibly that I could be wrong about what I saw, in which case I will be REALLY surprised at the delivery.  I'm over it and happy that the baby is healthy and doing well. I guess I'll know for sure in a few weeks

I feel like I hear posts like this all the time. Unless it said "it's a boy/girl" in big letters or, unless you have training as a sonogram technician, it's still a 50-50 shot. I was told I was having a (I wanted to know) and at the following scan I thought I saw boy parts. I was wrong.

Ok with baby 1 I had a crazy labor. They induced me, broke my water, cervadil- got to pushing "great job great job!!" Yeah so great. Munchkin was stuck. Epidural wore off. Vomiting. Oxygen. Wound up getting a c section where some schmuck doctor (not my ob) asked So do you have a name for him? I almost screamed Who Are You?! Just stand there and collect your copay!!! Lol
Second baby- told sonogram girl we dont want to know gender. I think she slipped but tried to cover it up

DH and I clearly saw our son's penis. The dr even accidentally gave us a sono photo of it. Miraculously, it must have fallen off because I wound up delivering a girl

After our gender reveal with the twins, the sono tech proved to us that they were girls by showing us the girls parts on the sono. It didn't look like girl parts, and one of them looked like they had a penis! Seriously I have no clue what I'm looking at lol
