Anybody who has ever considered Crossfit
You have to come down to crossfit pace performance in Amityville.
I have been a gym addict for years and I am an avid runner, but I had doubts about Crossfit. I thought it "was for men" and things like that.
THis box, as it is called in the crossfit world, is AMAZING. The owner/coach Lenny is so knowledgeable. He speaks at Hofstra/Dowling and a variety of other institutions.
His number one priority is safety. You will not get hurt in his gym.
And the best part?? I am getting results, after only 20 days, that I have been working toward FOREVER.
I have found my new love!! It's awesome.

Anybody who has ever considered Crossfit
So funny I just passed by this place today and saw the sign. What is it like? Can you explain it in detail? Like is it timed classes, how many people in the class? What do you do from beginning to end? How much? I have a lot of questions i know but I'm really interested lol

Okay! Well from beginning to end the routine is as follows: 1. Foam Roller Warm Up (they teach you this and it is awesome) 2. Pace Warm Up 3. Workout of the Day 4. Static stretching
You can learn more at paceperformance.net
It is not like a "real" gym. It is like a warehouse atmosphere. It is filled with all sorts of equiptment such as kettlebells, dumbbells, etc. Some of the workouts are done for time. LIke todays for example, we had to go through the routine as many times as we could in 20 minutes. Other times it is do this routine a certain number of times and every person goes at their own pace and it is timed.
Lenny, the owner/ #1 trainer is amazing. He has so much knowledge about the body/fitness and he shares it so freely in class. He has customers who have severe injuries to their backs, knees, etc and he modifies the program for them.
I go at 6:30 and there are typically 5 to 6 people in my class. I am not sure how full the other classes are. I got a groupon for $50 for one month and he charges $100 per month regularly. It is like the best price I've found any place close to me. Most of the gyms charge at least $150.
It's worth every penny even if you only do it for one month. You'll learn a lot and get great results.
BTW Lenny doesn't pay me for this, but he should! lol
Go in and talk to him. He may let you try a class or two. Tell him Tracy recommended you try it~~ I promise you won't regret it.

I did my first CF class at the Oceanside location today. Loved it. Everyone is so nice and supportive. not scary at all.
Oside is $129/month, fyi for south shore nassau girls. All of the others surrounding it ranged from $175-$200.

ill probably join him at some time, but it is really intense, and although i love a good workout, i like doing it on my terms

That is really expensive! Wow. I'd just as soon buy Insanity for the same price and same results.

Re: Anybody who has ever considered Crossfit
It's $100 a month for unlimited personal training. The workouts/classes are basically spersonal training. I don't think that is expensive for that at all. I can't afford to do it every single month but I am treating myself to it all summer. It is $100 for 3 sessions with a trainer and those are 1/2 sessions. Plus you learn so much over the course of the month that you can take away with you and use forever.

I have to agree unfortunately, it's just too pricey, especially if you are already paying for a regular gym membership. You can always go online and get the Workout of the Day and do them on your own. I understand that part of the awesomeness of crossfit is the atmosphere/people etc, but I don't have a problem kickin gmy own ass and saving 100 bucks a month lol

I have cancelled my gym membership - I think Crossfit is worth every single cent. Gratned, its only been a few weeks, but I look forward to going. Its about a lot more than the workout for me - I love the people, I love our coaches. Its fabulous.

Awesome! For me, I enjoy other types of workouts that I can only do at a regular gym so I wouldn't want to cancel that. I pay less than half the price of cross fit per month at my gym and can do my those wirkouts there as wwll as the other stuff. I wish it was cheaper for sure because I'd love to try!
