Anyone else told no flying after 28 weeks?
My mommy is planning my shower and before we booked anything, she wanted me to call my OB to find out travel perameters. My OB said no flying after 28 weeks. Is this normal, considering I know that airlines will let you fly until 36? I don't know if she thinks I am a special case because of my compressed disc in my back. Just curious.

I think I was told 30 or 34 weeks. 28 weeks does seem early.

I was told 34-36 weeks depending on the health of the mother, I would also have to travel with a note form my Dr and my medical chart. Weird, call your dr and talk to him about it.

I also was told 28 wks, but have had no issues with this pregnancy. I think maybe for me it was b/c I would be flying long distances (between AZ and NY), but have no idea. I have heard longer for my friends, which had permission until 32 wks. My shower is in early October b/c of this.

I am pretty sure that I was told 32 weeks and that if I was flying between 24 and 32 weeks, then I needed to see the doctor the day before for a quick check.

Re: Anyone else told no flying after 28 weeks?
I was told 36 weeks if I'm feeling good but, I have had friends who were told 28 weeks (start of third trimester). It depends on the doctor.

She was the one who said no after 28 weeks and she would not give me permission to fly after then. I am going to ask her again on the 30th, which is my next appointment.

Re: Anyone else told no flying after 28 weeks?
I was cut off at 30 weeks, but that was more due to my swelling issues. Had I not had issues, he said I would be good to go until 34 weeks. I flew to FL at 28 weeks and was uncomfortable (that was just me, though, I'm uncomfortable flying when I'm not pregnant, this 6-foot tall body doesn't like being squished into the airplane seats )

Re: Anyone else told no flying after 28 weeks?
I was told 37 weeks. I am flying at 34 weeks, and flying home at 35 weeks. So I am really pushing it, but I don't really have much of a choice.
